ADCSI’s Fall Prevention Program was recently featured in the Press-Republican.

Since launching in 2025, more than 100 caregivers have used the program. During an in-home assessment, a specialist walks through the home, identifies potential risks and provides a personalized safety plan. In some cases, caregivers are also connected with equipment that makes daily care safer and easier.

The program is free for residents in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Warren and Washington counties.

With the days getting longer and the weather starting to warm up, this time of year can make it a little easier to step outside.

A short walk, sitting outside for a few minutes or even just getting some fresh air between tasks can help break up the day. If you’re a caregiver, especially a sandwich caregiver, those small resets can make a difference.

If you’re looking for something more consistent, ADCSI’s Caregiver Wellness Program offers options like Tai Chi, Halotherapy and other activities that give you time to focus on your wellness.

Most falls happen during everyday routines, like getting up at night or moving between rooms.

ADCSI’s Fall Prevention Program offers free in-home safety assessments. A fall prevention specialist will come to your home, walk through the space with you and point out things that could increase the risk of a fall, like poor lighting, clutter or how furniture is arranged.

You’ll leave with a clear plan and, if needed, access to equipment that can help make things safer.

The program is free for residents in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Warren and Washington counties.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Caregiving can take a real toll over time. According to a report from AARP, more than 60% of caregivers say caregiving has increased their level of stress and worry.

That kind of stress builds over time, balancing appointments, responsibilities and everything else in your day.

If that’s something you’ve been feeling, you don’t have to handle it on your own. We can help.

ADCSI offers caregiver support groups and wellness programs that give you space to talk, reset and connect with others who understand what you’re going through.

You can view upcoming programs at wehelpcaregivers.com or call 1-800-388-0199 to learn more.
