🌎🚭 May 31 is World No To***co Day.
This year’s theme, “Unmasking the Appeal,” shines a light on how to***co and ni****ne companies continue to market products in ways that attract young people.

World No To***co Day is a reminder that protecting youth from ni****ne addiction requires continued education, awareness, and action.

Our Reality Check youth are making their voices heard on a national stage! 💥

This week, one of our incredible youth members traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend Mobilize Against To***co Lies (MATL), joining youth advocates from across the country to stand up against the to***co industry and speak out for healthier communities.

From learning advocacy skills to rallying alongside other passionate youth leaders, this experience highlights the power young people have to create change. We are so proud to see our Reality Check youth representing the North Country and continuing the fight for a to***co-free future. 👏💜

🏠 Creating healthier homes for our community!

Hebert's recently made the decision to implement a smoke and v**e-free policy across their rental properties helping create cleaner, healthier living spaces for tenants while also protecting their investment.

“Going smoke and v**e-free was an easy decision it helps protect my property and creates a healthier space for all of my tenants.”

Smoke-free housing policies can help reduce exposure to secondhand smoke and aerosol, lower fire risks, decrease maintenance costs, and support healthier environments for everyone who lives there.

🚬➡️🗑️➡️🌎

This to***co waste was collected from downtown Plattsburgh during GreenUP.

Many people don’t realize:
❌ Cigarette butts are not biodegradable
❌ V**e devices should not go in household trash
❌ To***co waste contains toxic chemicals harmful to the environment

By working together, we can help create cleaner and healthier public spaces for everyone.

Thank you to Assemblyman Michael Cashman for taking the time to connect with C-TURN. It was a productive discussion focused on issues we’re seeing right here in our communities including v**e waste and disposal challenges, the environmental impact of these products, the ongoing concerns around the illicit v**e market, and the growing presence of ni****ne pouches in schools.

These conversations matter. By working together and sharing what we’re seeing on the ground, we can continue to raise awareness and support healthier communities across Clinton, Franklin, and Essex counties.

We’re grateful for the time, attention, and commitment to understanding these evolving issues.

I appreciated the opportunity to meet with members of C-TURN and The Heart Network to hear directly about the work they’re doing across Clinton, Franklin, and Essex counties. We had a productive conversation about several important issues, including the growing concern around e-battery waste and the dangers it poses, the environmental impact of v**e waste, ongoing challenges illicit v**e products, and the increasing presence of ni****ne pouches in our schools. I’m grateful for the insights they shared and for the work they continue to do in our communities.

It’s National Take Down To***co Day, and our Reality Check youth are making their voices heard loud and clear—Big To***co has no place in our communities.

From raising awareness to taking action, young people across our region are leading the movement for a healthier, to***co-free future. They’re speaking up about the harms of commercial to***co, calling out industry tactics, and showing that change starts with their generation.

At C-TURN, we’re proud to support youth who are passionate about protecting their peers, their environment, and their future. 💚

Together, we’re not just talking about change—we’re creating it.
