We don't identify ourselves as"progressive" because we want to avoid divisive labels & be able to dialogue across some of the labels which serve as barriers to people working together on issues of common concern. Since our founding we have worked with various organizations thinking that the best way for a local organization to extend its reach is to work with national organizations on issues tha

t also affect us locally. These include MoveOn.org, 350.org, & Common Cause, as well as doing a few things of our own, such as the tree planting on the Greenway in downtown Plattsburgh last September, & supporting petitions circulated by Move to Amend & others.

You've heard about the terrible tax bill that's about to come up for a vote in Congress. Tomorrow (Wed.) at noon let's gather across Durkee St from Rep. Stefanik's office to ask her to vote NO when it does.
If you'll b e representing an organization, wear a button of bring a sign. Bring signs that say NO on the )(or this) tax bill.
I'll send a press advisory. Please bring friends, too.
