Community Update from Historic Plant City Main Street

We are saddened by the announcement of our Executive Director, Dawn Hyatt’s, resignation. We wish her well and continued success in her future endeavors. The incredible community engagement in response to the temporary pause on events has lifted our spirits. Your passion and enthusiasm mean so much to us!

We understand the frustration, and we hear you. But let’s be clear: organizing and running events isn’t as simple as it may seem. It requires dedication, planning, and a team of people working together behind the scenes. While we appreciate the feedback, we need to move beyond armchair commentary and those who are quick to criticize without fully understanding the complexity of what goes into these efforts and the years it has taken to curate this level of success.

If you’re passionate about our mission and want to see these events continue, now’s your chance to get involved. We’re looking for community-focused team players with positive attitudes who are ready to roll up their sleeves and make a real, lasting impact.

We are also actively seeking applicants for our Executive Director position. If you or someone you know is ready to lead with vision, compassion, and determination, we want to hear from you.

The future of Historic Plant City Main Street is in all our hands. Let’s show up for our community—together.
