END POLIO NOW!

Guest speaker for June 4th is Ross Roliard Polio Plus Chair with the Rotary Club of Fairview.

The presentation covers the polio virus, its history, its current status and the efforts being made by so many to fully eradicate polio worldwide. I have some very optimistic news about new developments in this fight that will make a significant difference. Polio is only endemic in two countries (Afghanistan & Pakistan). We really are close!

Did you know that we (Rotary, Gates Foundation, WHO, CDC and UNICEF) are still immunizing over 400 million children each year to keep this scourge at bay? Learn more about that plus advancements in vaccines and vaccine delivery systems by scheduling a presentation at your club as soon as possible!

The Plano Rotary Club guest for May 14 is Colleen Mier of Foundation for Choice.

The Foundation for C.H.O.I.C.E. (Consider How One Individual Changes Everything) is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to serving students in North Texas through a comprehensive range of support services, including individualized mentoring, college and career readiness programs, and leadership development initiatives.

Our focus is on assisting at-risk and first-generation youth in preparing for various post-secondary pathways, whether that be college, trade school, or military service. We achieve this by offering a structured curriculum that encompasses essential scholarship and FAFSA assistance, as well as training in vital soft skills.

Our mission is to empower students not only to graduate but also to pursue further education and make informed, positive choices that will ultimately transform their lives and positively impact future generations.

Join our guest speaker next week Russ Keith of Operation AirDrop.
