The garden may look like it’s sleeping, but winter is a time of preparation and renewal. 2026 will be the garden’s 18th year of production, and 18 TONS of produce has been donated since our inception in 2008.
In 2025, a total of 2,535.25 pounds of produce was donated, which beat the prior year’s total by 204 pounds!
Gardeners are currently prepping plots, planting onions and garlic, and doing routine maintenance necessary to keep the community garden a haven for all.

On a beautiful November Saturday morning, 12 harvesters brought in 25 total pounds of produce. This consisted of 2 pounds of herbs (thanks to our team for bundling the herbs and making such a nice presentation!)
Peppers, greens, eggplant, pecans, squash, and fall tomatoes rounded out the harvest. We also had 28 pounds of good karma donated; all produce and good karma goes to our neighbors at God’s Pantry.

This Saturday, 6 gardeners harvested 23 pounds of greens and the last of the summer okra and beans. Thanks to our gardeners who also donated an additional 27 pounds of good karma, for a total of 50 poubds of food to God’s Pantry. Peppers are still hanging on, but the fruit was small. We should have a couple more weeks to harvest peppers, pecans, and greens. Soon the winter produce will take off.

A double update on our !
On Saturday, October 4, 9 gardeners harvested an amazing 96 pounds of produce, and contributed 11 pounds of good karma.
Last Saturday, October 11, 9 gardeners harvested a total of 40.5 pounds of produce from the garden, with 7.5 pounds of good karma peppers contributed.
Thanks again to our intrepid pear harvesters! Pears, peppers, greens, and radishes have led these mid-autumn totals.
The pepper plants are still bearing prolifically and should continue to produce while our weather remains very warm and sunny.
Butterflies (Monarchs, admirals, swallowtails, among others) continue to migrate through our area.
We also gathered for the October garden social in the garden!

Eleven of our harvesters rang in the autumn season with an impressive 37.5 pounds of herbs, eggplants, and peppers from our garden, and an additional 8 pounds of good karma peppers! This was all donated to our neighbors at God’s Pantry.
After harvest, our gardeners cleaned up the gate area and removed saplings from the food forest, giving the garden a much-needed refresh as we move into the Texas fall gardening season.
