Karen was loved by many and served shoulder to shoulder with Pastor Roger and Tammy and many new life church members. We have fond memories of food distribution every Friday during the pandemic. Loving and serving humanity together… she will indeed be missed! Please pray for her husband Pete, her children and grandchildren and siblings., as well as her father Wes Bowers.
We are so grateful for the hope of heaven and that she is in our future❤️😇
Karen Campbell Obituary Information.
Karen passed away April 1, 2026 after a brief illness.
Karen was born on September 21, 1958, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to Wesley and Jeanette Bowers.
On April 21, 1979, she married the love of her life, Elwood “Pete” Campbell. Together, they shared almost 47 years of marriage and were blessed with two daughters, Kylene and Kalyn.
Karen devoted much of her life to being a loving wife, mother, and caregiver. While raising her daughters, she operated a daycare in her home and lovingly cared for many children over the years. Each child she welcomed became like family, and she continued to encourage and support them well into adulthood.
From 2001 to 2014, Karen and Pete lived at Iola Pines Campground, where they helped her parents manage the property. During this time, Karen formed many lasting friendships and created cherished memories.
Karen also served as the volunteer coordinator for Joseph’s Hope Food Pantry in Plainfield alongside Pete and close friends. Through their dedication, the pantry grew into a thriving and impactful ministry within the community.
Her most treasured role was being “Mami” to her four grandchildren. She was a constant presence at their events and especially loved hosting sleepovers, as well as playing games.
One of Karens’ favorite things to do was listen to Christmas music all year round. Christmas was her favorite Holiday.
Karen is survived by her husband, Elwood “Pete” Campbell; her daughters, Kylene (Mike) Parman and Kalyn (Adam) Coulthurst; her grandchildren, Braden and MaKayla Parman, and Dylan and Zander Coulthurst; her father, Wesley Bowers; her siblings, Ken Bowers, Kandra (David) Millsaps, Kamela (Lonnie) Gleitz, Kurtis (Kim) Bowers, and Kristen (John) Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Ajay Coulthurst and her mother, Jeanette Bowers.
