Foster care services is one of the crucial areas that we specialize in providing for. In fact, we recruit, prepare and support over 60 foster families annually. 🏠

We make sure that each family feels properly supported throughout the entire process — from onboarding to reunification or adoption.

If you don't have the bandwidth to become a foster parent yourself, we also offer options to make a monetary donation to help support the children and families we work with in purchasing clothes, backpacks, toys, school supplies and more.

Our neighbors with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserve to stay active and be involved in the community while still getting the support they need. 🤝

That's why we offer a variety of support programs at our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Northco facility. These programs serve clients at many stages of life and include job and community integration training, a senior day program, a residential program, and more.

Through our IDD programs, we aim to give everyone a way to reach their full potential.

Want to learn how to cook healthier meals? 🍲

Join the UPMC New Kensington Family Health Center staff at our Wellness Center TOMORROW, Dec. 16, from 6-7:30 pm for the "New Kensington Kitchen" healthy cooking and nutrition class.

This class will discuss health diagnoses and how your diet can be improved, followed by a hands-on cooking demonstration focused on making healthy diet choices. After eating a delicious meal created themselves, participants are welcome to take home recipes, ingredients, and grocery store vouchers after the session.

Re-visit the scents of the holiday season through a 1-hour aromatherapy session that involves a number of therapeutic guided imagery experiences.

A big thank-you to the Montour 10U Travel Baseball team for their support of the program by being wish granters and for helping with getting our wrapping started!

Another big shout out to our Foster Grandparents, Cindy, Cathy, Amneh and Rose Ann for their excellent wrapping skills! Wrapping is a big undertaking, and yet they made wrapping 100 gifts look EASY!

Join us at our Wellness Center tomorrow, Dec. 9, from 12 - 2 pm for Board Game Day! 🎲

This month's game is called “Challengers", an engaging deck management game featuring a unique tournament style for 1 to 8 players.

With 75 unique characters and over 40 thrilling effects, every round offers a distinct experience! Step into the ultimate challenge as you gather an unlikely team of allies to battle in the world’s premier Capture the Flag tournament!

This event is hosted by The Feisty Goblin, a game house providing games such as Pokémon, D&D, BattleTech, and more. There will be instructors there to explain the game, so don't worry if you don't know how to play.
