In July 2017, Wesley Spectrum and Family Services of Western PA merged in order to allow us to provide high-quality services across the lifespan of our clients. The strengths of the organizations coming together as one makes us more effective and enables us to serve more populations. Out of these shared goals, Wesley Family Services was born.

Preventing domestic violence requires more than awareness: it requires accountability and change.

💜 Our Battering Intervention Program works with individuals who have committed violence and abuse to help them understand their behavior, take accountability and make meaningful changes.

Through a 24-class program, participants are challenged to recognize harmful patterns and develop healthier ways of responding and relating to others.

🔦 During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re highlighting this important work because creating safer families and communities also means addressing abusive behavior and working to prevent it from happening again. More info in comments.

You don’t have to be a perfect parent. You just have to be willing to make a difference. ❤️

Children across western PA need safe, supportive homes, sometimes for a short time, sometimes for longer. Foster and kinship parents can provide the stability, care and encouragement a child needs during an uncertain time.

And you don’t have to do it alone. Wesley Family Services provides training, resources and ongoing support to foster families every step of the way.

🧑‍🧒 Every year, we're proud to recruit and support 60+ foster families that care for more than 180 children. AND fewer than 5% of our foster placements disrupt. That last one matters most.

🚸 It means the kids stay, that the support and services we offer families are working, that a child who has already lost a great deal doesn't lose a home, too.

👨🏾‍👧🏾‍👦🏾 We work with families across Allegheny, Westmoreland and Washington Counties, with agencies across PA, placing kids from newborns to teens. 👧🏽
