We are incredibly grateful to the Pittsburg Police Department's Family Response Advocate Diann Gambill and Lieutenant Thomas Cuppett for a presentation on the Blue Envelope Program.

This important program supports drivers and passengers with autism, sensory sensitivities, communication challenges, and other special needs during interactions with law enforcement.

Kansas-WorkforceONE staff recently visited Columbus, KS, to see firsthand the incredible work being accomplished through our Work Experience partnership with Crossland Construction Company, Inc. in the summer of 2026. ⛑🏠

Staff toured two of three homes being built and connected with Crossland’s site superintendent, project leads, recruiter, interns, and Kansas WorkforceONE work experience participants. We heard how this group of young people - many of whom had never met before - came together around a shared interest in construction, learned from one another, and worked as a team to build not only homes, but valuable skills and confidence.

Seeing their progress and hearing their experiences was a great reminder of what can happen when young people are given an opportunity to learn, work, and grow together. They’re learning the “Crossland Way” and laying a strong foundation for their futures!
