Briefly People Saved will be a faith based vocational training org. that gets adult Men on a solid rock foundation. After a terrible year in business in 2019 dealing with theft, embezzlement and many other of the Devil's schemes, my life was a wreck and my business was worse. I came to the point where I was about to lose my mind. Most people did not see this as I put on a face and tried to be stro
ng. The truth is I was defeated. I had already started my walk, journey with following Jesus, and was struggling, honestly, primarily due to my stubborn and controlling ways. Things got to a new low point in August of 2019. I sought advice and began to fellowship with friends where I opened up and shared my struggles. I was fortunate to be able to attend the Men's Encounter with CCO where I made huge steps forward in my walk. I was eventually baptized (made new, 9-7-19) and continued to give more of my life to God. After laying over 40 employees off, basically closing my businesses, I didn’t know what to do. I literally wanted to run and hide at times. I went back and forth. I continued to push myself outside of my comfort level and serve God. I remember just before Christmas, I had been asked by Jason Ponder, who works at the Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch in Lampe, MO, to help with a project cutting some scriptures out for a member of the Golden, MO Baptist Church. I remember being in the 55,000 sq. shop all alone, looking all the way from one end to the other while grinding out the scriptures thinking and asking God, "what am I going to do with this place," I went on saying and thinking, "I can’t find good help, I can’t trust anyone and no one wants to work." I continued complaining and having pity for my situation continuing with “no one knows how to work, they don't know how to push a broom or read a tape measure, I can't find truck drivers, I can't find mechanics, or welders and no one else can either.” I was thinking “everyone is hiring and trying to find good dependable skilled workers, what am I going to do? I am just a small business and I'm tired of it." I concluded my thoughts with "there are just not enough skilled people out there to do all the work.” I remember hearing "DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT !!" I remember thinking, “ yeah, what am I going to do about it? It's a problem with our society in general.” I knew people who went to technical school or college and are out of work or doing some basic laborer type work because they don't know anything else. Honestly, I kind of blew it off. I went on with my life. I finished the scriptures and I thought about the boys ranch in Lampe and how something like this would help adults. When Jason picked up the steel plates with scriptures cut out of them we talked briefly and he said they can see a need for an adult version of what they do. We went our separate ways and I would think about it from time to time. I went on a couple of mission trips in January that had a huge impact on me. I began to get more and more interested and involved in church and serving. After being gone several days from the shop on a mission trip in Ft. Worth serving the homeless I returned and I did not want to be there. I did not want to get out of the vehicle. It was Monday, February 17, 2019. I sat there looking at the shop, all of the trucks and equipment, and thinking “what am I going to do with all of this, I'm not a quitter and I like all the different things I do.” It came back to me, "Do Something About It." This is when I first got excited and praised God for the idea. I got up and got out of the vehicle and immediately called a couple of my christian brothers. I was excited. I told them I was ready to give it all to God and do a Christian Vo-Tech. I had everything as far as a building, equipment and the basic knowledge and tools to start. I said, “we can teach vocational truck drivers, basic mechanics and maintenance, excavation basics and equipment operating, welding and fabrication.” I told them I also do surplus acquisitions and we could continue this and teach people to post online and do sales of goods that would help generate income to operate. I couldn't quit thinking about it and eventually I had to put it on paper. A brain map of a large network of churches, businesses and organizations, with a board of directors, a church support team, a praise and worship team with evangelists for outreach events, a large team of volunteers and eventually employees, leaders, and a growing number of people being saved by Jesus from anything and everything. This is when People Saved got started. I went on to get Kansas non-profit status (3-9-20) and will go forward in the future with federal. People Saved is not much more than a vision today, but I am making the first steps in reaching out and looking for whoever and whatever God is willing to provide on His timing and His control to move this in His direction which we all know to be forward. With God's Full Armor.
