Wesley House Pittsburg KS Wesley House is an outreach ministry of the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Our primary program is our food pantry which serves Crawford County residents Sun-Thu from 1-3PM. This page is periodically managed by volunteers and serves the purpose to promote program offerings and needs. July was the busiest month ever for our pantry as we served 518 Crawford County households. This number equates to 1,411 neighbors, 510 of them being children. That 36% rate is also the highest number of littles we've had the pleasure of serving.

Meet the talented Keagan Fleming, a St. Mary's Colgan alumni and current KU student. For his SELF Engineering Leadership Program, Keegan decided to do his scholarship program capstone project to support Wesley House. The result is a portable donation bin designed for local businesses, classrooms and organizations who want to do food drives for us. We love it! Thank you, Keagan!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone who had a hand in making this year's Farm to Table dinner a success. The shade came out for us just in time to beat the heat. This year's event raised $7,500 for our mission, enough for us to feed 1,200 people through our pantry!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Monica Angeles at Monica & Co. Realtors for donating six months' worth of bread for us to distribute to local families. We may have just received the biggest donation in our 44 year history! To celebrate America's 250th birthday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints took it upon themselves to donate 250 full semi trucks worth of goods to 250 food banks across the nation, and we were fortunate enough to be chosen as a recipient.

Today, we unloaded an incredible 27 pallettes of goods including rice, beans, flour, dry milk, peanut butter, pasta, marinara sauce, canned vegetables, canned fruit, chili, beef stew, macaroni and cheese, hot cocoa, and even dish soap. We are beyond grateful for this 38,000 pound donation, and look forward to distributing this food to our neighbors in need for many months to come.

It is truly amazing how a well-timed donation arrives whenever a need arises. A huge THANK YOU to our friends at the United Way of Southwest Missouri & Southeast Kansas for this significant donation to our operation. This Impact Grant will go a long way in helping us to serve our neighbors in need throughout Crawford County. God is great!
