Happy Halloween!

Shelter will be closed today!

We hope everyone gets lots of treats tonight!

While our fuzzy babies may want to share our candies, they are not good for them at all.

Cats and dogs can safely have in small quantities:

- Apples (so long as they have been deseeded)
- Pumpkin (plain)
- Blueberries
- Carrots
- Bananas
- Green Beans and Peas
- Broccoli and Spinach, but do avoid/limit if your pet has a history of bladder stones

Foods that should ALWAYS be avoided:

- Grapes/Raisins (causes kidney damage/failure)
- Onions, Garlic, and Chives (damages red blood cells and causes anemia)
- Cherry, Peach, and Plum Pits/Seeds (contain cyanide compounds)
- Avocados (contain persin)

Please call your vet if you believe your pet has gotten into something they shouldn't have!

SEK Humane Society’s animal shelter will be closed on 10/31 to the public. Our animals will still be cared for by our wonderful staff, but no visits will be available. Please contact us via messenger or phone to schedule an appointment for another day or stop on by next weekend!

When you first meet Rocky, he may be a little shy and take a few minutes to warm up but don't let that fool you. Give Rocky about 10 minutes, and you'll have a large lap dog happily soaking up all the cuddles and affection he can!

Rocky is also a wonderful companion for a variety of homes. He gets along great with other dogs, absolutely loves cats, and has done fantastic with children. His gentle nature and easygoing personality make him a joy to have around.

He is already neutred, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations!

So, if you’re looking for a loving companion, Rocky is ready to leap into your life toy in mouth and tail in full wag.

He is also sponsored meaning he has NO ADOPTION FEE!!

This spooky guy is ready to haunt your halls and trick your treats! Meet Diesel!

He may look spooky, but he’s a lover boy through and through! He loves kids and his favorite place to be is in the yard with his people. Just don’t leave him alone, he has a talent for fence hopping.

After so long in the shelter, he would prefer a home with no other animals so he can be only creature in haunting the castle.

He is up to date on shots, microchipped, neutered, and sponsored.

Our shelter furbabies have a few vet appointments today that will cause us to open a little later than normal. We will be ready to see members of our community starting at 1pm!

Say Hello to Lola!

She may not work two jobs, but this single mom sure loves all 12 (you read that correctly, 12!!) of her kids enough to make you think she does!

She enjoys Reba and Dolly enough that she aspires to play dress up with her future mom or dad while singing along to old shows!

Although she does have a secret passion for watching the masked singer - her surprise favorite was T-Pain, what about yours?

She is up to date on vaccines, spayed microchipped, heartworm negative. She has been lovingly sponsored by an anonymous donor!

*Costumes can scare some dogs and cats
*An open door with chatter, noises and strangers can be a strong trigger for some dogs
*Busy moments with trick or treaters can lead to a pets escape without anyone's knowledge

*Candy and Halloween treats are not for dogs and cats

*Be sure to throw away wrappers

BRING YOUR OUTDOOR PETS INSIDE, or provide a secure area for them
*Halloween brings a lot of foot traffic in neighborhoods and outside pets can also be triggered, placing them in harm's way
