After we placed the crosses by West Street last year, several people commented that they were not aware that the event was taking place. You can help by spreading the word.

We encourage you to honor the service of a veteran, either living or deceased, at this year's Veterans Memorial event. You may now place an order for the memorial cross or Star of David that will displayed in November, for a two-week period. The cost is $100 for a cross or $125 for the Star of David. Order forms are available in previous posts, or you can contact us via email at [email protected] to request a form.

This year we will be able to offer the Star of David for those in the Jewish faith that would like to honor a Veteran. The one time cost of the Star of David memorial is $125.00. Once you complete the form and it is received, an email with instructions regarding payment will be sent to the email provided.

The late Toby Keith’s "American Soldier" perfectly captures why the volunteers of the Chatham Veteran’s Memorial started this annual tradition. Every veteran and their family understands the weight of service and the personal sacrifices required to protect our country.
The crosses on display are a tribute to that commitment. While some made the ultimate sacrifice, others were fortunate enough to return home to their loved ones—several of whom are honored by the families who supported them.

For new orders for the 2026 here is the link to order form for a cross to honor a Veteran in your life. If you ordered last year there is nothing for you to do. Each year the cross that you ordered will be displayed to honor your Veteran.

In tribute to my father's legacy as an Army veteran stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington, I'll proudly display this cross again in November, celebrating his dedication to our nation and the enduring spirit of service.
