💜 An Opportunity to Help Shape Early Childhood in North Carolina!

The Care and Learning Coalition (CandL) is piloting its first-ever Ambassador Program and is looking for people across North Carolina who want to share their experiences and perspectives on early childhood.

The program is open to parents, caregivers, child care providers, early childhood educators, community and business leaders, and college students. No experience in advocacy or policy is needed, and training and support will be provided!

✨ A few details:
💜 Ambassadors will be paid $25/hour, with a minimum commitment of 6 hours per month.
📅 The first group of 10–15 Ambassadors will be selected by December 15, 2026.
📚 Training will begin in January 2027.

This is a great opportunity for people to bring their lived experiences and perspectives to conversations about the future of early childhood in North Carolina.

📚✨ It’s official! ✨📚

Today, Mayor Kyle Shipp officially proclaimed 9/25/26, (or as Dolly might say, 9 to 5…🎶) as Dolly Parton Day in Pittsboro!

To celebrate, Mayor Shipp joined the Chatham County Partnership for Children for a special story time at the Chatham Community Library, where he read “Dandelion Magic” by Darren Farrell, one of the books featured in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Families also enjoyed a Story Walk and other activities celebrating the joy of reading.

Today’s proclamation recognized Dolly Parton not only for her extraordinary contributions to music and culture, but also for her lifelong commitment to literacy, education, and helping children reach their full potential through the Imagination Library.

A special thank you to the Chatham County Partnership for Children for working with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to provide free, high-quality books to children throughout Chatham County, North Carolina. We are grateful for their dedication to fostering a love of reading and supporting young learners in our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special celebration of literacy, learning, and community.
