🎄 Why is there a Christmas tree at the Family Center in July?

Because Christmas doesn't begin in December.

It begins months earlier, with a community that chooses to care.

Every year, our Christmas for Kids program helps local children and families experience the joy of Christmas through the generosity of our community.

Planning starts now.

Hope starts now.

Throughout the next few weeks, we'll be sharing more about Christmas for Kids, why we begin preparing in the summer, and how you can help make Christmas brighter for local families.

The Family Center's Food Shelf has an abundance of Ge**er Stage 2 baby food and Ge**er oatmeal cereal available for families with little ones.

If you can use it, we'd love to help! Stop by the food shelf to pick up.

Open today (Friday) until 1:00 PM!

Open next week: Tuesday Friday 10am-1pm.

We're grateful to Lakeland PBS for featuring the Pine River - Backus Family Center's food shelf program and highlighting the importance of helping our neighbors.

Join us during the Open Your Heart Summer Challenge this July. Your support helps provide food for local families and may help us earn matching grant funds to make every donation go even further.

The Pine River-Backus Family Center, including the Food Shelf, will be closed on tomorrow, Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

We will reopen during our regular business hours the following week.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) distribution will take place:

The Pine River Area Food Shelf, a program of the Pine River-Backus Family Center, is looking for clean, empty egg cartons!

We regularly repackage eggs to help serve individuals and families throughout our community, and egg cartons are always appreciated.

If you have extra cardboard or foam egg cartons (standard dozen size) that you would like to donate, they can be dropped off at the Family Center - Monday through Friday.
