Today’s Flower Festival was filled with ribbons dancing in the wind, flower crowns, warm tea, muddy hands, little seedlings, and slow time outdoors together. 🌿

Northwoods Forest School was born from a simple belief: that childhood deserves time, space, and reverence — and that nature offers something essential to families that cannot be replicated indoors.

🌲 A Season of Completion 🌲

As the year turns and winter settles in, Northwoods Forest School is completing this chapter of its work.

What began as a small, intentional offering grew into a space shaped by seasons, stories, muddy boots, quiet observation, and deep respect for childhood and the natural world. This work has been meaningful, and it feels right to honor it as complete. ✨

We are deeply grateful to the families, children, and community members who walked alongside Northwoods over the years. The trust, care, and shared moments of wonder will always be held with appreciation.🤎

While the forest school full-time/part-time program itself is concluding, there will be stand-alone seasonal workshops or nature gatherings offered in the future! When those arise, they will be shared publicly here. 🌿

Thank you for being part of this season....the adventure... and the warmth that was our forest family forest school days!

🍂 The forest has changed her colors once again…
As autumn fades toward winter, we can’t help but smile at how much fun we’ve had—muddy boots, rosy cheeks, and countless little discoveries tucked into our days. ✨

From brave bug finders to quiet lantern makers, our forest friends have grown in courage and wonder with each passing week. 🌲💛

Here’s to new adventures as the season turns and the woods grow still.

Each week, we watch the children move with a little more confidence, speak with a little more assurance, and collaborate with a little more ease. The forest has a way of nurturing what is quiet and helping it bloom. 🍃

Here, learning doesn’t happen from a desk—it unfolds through friendship, curiosity, and courage. Whether they’re helping one another problem-solve, creating something new together, or simply sharing laughter under the trees, their sense of belonging grows stronger with each passing day. 🌿💛

These are the roots of character—built slowly, gently, and beautifully—right here at Northwoods Forest School.

🌧️✨ We’re excited to finally be putting our beautiful new rain gear to use as the MN weather turns— nine full sets of yellow jackets, rain pants, and rainboots, all ready for puddle-jumping + our chilly rainy season! 💛💙🖤

A huge thank-you to our angel donor and all other donations that made this possible. Because of your kindness, every child is geared up and ready to explore, rain or shine this autumn. 🍂☔
