Please be respectful in the field. Respect the Land, Respect the Landowner and Respect the Wildlife.
When you're out in the field this fall it's important to show respect to our fellow hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and landowners. Many public hunting areas, such as the Walk In Areas, are private lands open for public hunting. You can do your part to ensure we have these access opportunities moving forward by recreating with respect.
This can be done a few simple ways, including:
• If you pack it in, pack it out - don't leave any trash, shell casing, or other litter in the field;
• Field dress animals away from high visibility areas such as parking areas, roadsides, or crop fields;
• Stay on public or designated roads, and never drive into fields, trails, or grassy areas;
• Avoid parking infront of gates or field entrances, and leave plenty of space for equipment to access these areas;
• Pay attention for large equipment on rural roads, and move over and give them plenty of room when you encounter them;
• Avoid parking on the blind spots of hills, or other areas with obstructed vision;
• Leave gates as you found them, if you open a gate always close it behind you;
• Respect posted signs and boundaries; and,
• Remember that fall is a busy season for harvest and livestock work, so please be patient and respectful.
If you see someone disrespecting our public hunting areas, or committing a wildlife violation, please contact your local conservation officer. You can also submit a report anonymously through the TIPS online reporting form or by calling 1.888.OVERBAG.
