🚲 Bike Collection Day is Almost Here! 🚲

Help us make the holidays brighter for Arizona children! Join AZAFAP's Recycle Your Bicycle (RYB) program for our Bike Collection Day on:

📅 Saturday, August 22
🕘 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 AZAFAP Phoenix Office

We're collecting new and gently used bicycles of all sizes that will be refurbished by our amazing volunteers and gifted to children in foster, adoptive, and kinship families this holiday season.

Can't make it on August 22? No problem! We'll be accepting bike donations every Saturday from 9 AM–1 PM, September 26th through December 5th, so you still have plenty of opportunities to donate.

🎁 Don't have a bike but still want to give back? Help support our Holiday Toy Drive! It's a great way for businesses, community groups, families, scout troops, clubs, or anyone looking to make a difference to get involved. Host a toy or gift card drive and help bring joy to children this holiday season.

📧 To learn more about donating bikes, hosting a toy drive, or volunteering, contact [email protected].

Every bike, every toy, and every act of generosity helps make the holidays a little brighter. ❤️ Please share this post to help us spread the word!

Today we celebrate the children who make our families stronger, our homes brighter, and our lives more meaningful. ✨

At AZAFAP, we know that family can be built in many different ways. Today, we celebrate all sons and daughters—including children in foster, kinship, and adoptive families who bring so much love, strength, and joy into the lives of those around them.

Every child deserves to feel loved, supported, valued, and celebrated. 💙

To all the amazing kids across Arizona—thank you for the laughter, the memories, and the love you bring to your families.

Happy National Son and Daughter Day! 🎉

Sometimes, showing up can change a life.

At Jose’s Closet and AZAFAP, our volunteers get to witness something truly special: families finding hope, dignity, and the resources they need during some of the hardest seasons of their lives.

One of our volunteers put it beautifully:

“I get to see a lot of families blessed by Jose’s; a lot of people's lives changed by having access to food and clothing. This can literally change the trajectory of a child's life. I feel like I get to be a part of that and it's really special.”

That is what your time, your generosity, and your support can mean.

It might look like sorting a donation.
It might look like stocking a shelf.
It might look like organizing clothes.
It might look like making a donation that puts food on a table or gives a child something they desperately need.

But to a family walking through our doors, it can mean so much more.

It can be one less thing for a caregiver to worry about.
It can help a child feel cared for and valued.
It can remind a family that they are not alone.

You can be part of that.

Whether you volunteer your time, donate needed items, or give financially, you have the opportunity to help make a lasting difference in the life of a child and their family.

Come be part of something special.
Together, we can help change trajectories, one family at a time.

We’re excited to continue our series introducing the amazing people who help make Jose’s Closet and Arizona Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents (AZAFAP) extraordinary. Today we’re featuring our Program Manager, Bailey Driver!
Bailey’s journey into the foster care community first began fresh out of college when she accepted a job as a residential caregiver for children who had been removed from their homes and were waiting for foster placements. What started as her first job quickly became her passion. Nineteen years later, she has dedicated her career to ensuring children and youth with foster care experience have the resources, opportunities, and support they deserve.
One of Bailey’s favorite things about working at Jose’s Closet and AZAFAP is the incredible heart every employee and board member brings to the mission. She loves being part of an organization where everyone shares the same goal—to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.
Bailey hopes every family involved in our services feels welcomed, valued, and supported. She wants each family to know they are part of a caring community and that they never have to navigate their journey alone.
When she’s not at work, Bailey enjoys keeping life simple. Her perfect way to recharge includes a good nap, a binge-worthy true crime documentary, time with a good book, and, of course, a sweet treat. Living in Arizona, spring is her favorite season because she loves opening the windows, enjoying the beautiful weather, and spending time outside before the summer heat arrives.
One of Bailey’s biggest goals has been to visit all 50 states. She started this year with just five states left to see, and this month she's excited to check off her final state—Alaska—and officially complete her goal!
We are so grateful to have Bailey as part of the Jose’s Closet and AZAFAP team. Her passion, dedication, and commitment to serving children and families inspire all of us every day. If you see Bailey around, be sure to say hello! Stay tuned as we continue introducing more of the incredible people who make Jose’s Closet and AZAFAP such special places.

Today is Parent Appreciation Day, and we want to recognize the caregivers in our AZAFAP community.

Parenting—especially in foster, kinship, and adoptive journeys—takes patience, resilience, and a lot of heart. The everyday work you do to support your children, advocate for their needs, and create stability matters more than words can fully capture.

We are grateful for the way you show up for your families and for being part of a community that continues to grow and support one another through AZAFAP programs like Jose’s Closet and Recycle Your Bicycle.

Thank you for everything you do, today and every day.
