A Message From Our Worthy President....
Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
As you probably guessed, I’m going to tell you we are going to have a great August. Well we are but I’d like to comment a little about July. While everyone headed to Milwaukee for the Grand Convention, our expectations were sky high. Our state convention was a great success and we all looked forward to more of the same in Milwaukee. While Brian Rogers was elected as Grand Trustee we all beamed and somehow stood a little taller as we strutted around Sunnyslope. Then Jacque Marble came out of the Auxiliary without being elected and we all were stunned. How could this happen? Why her? Why US! I’ll tell you why. Sometimes God uses people.
When Jacque refused to have herself nominated from the floor then stood and cheered for the newly elected officers, she showed the entire country what we at Sunnyslope already knew. Her graciousness and character will be remembered long after anything she would have accomplished this year as a Grand Auxiliary Officer. She taught us all a lesson in humility that shined a light from Maine to Hawaii and from Florida to Alaska. While our feelings are bittersweet I, for one, couldn’t be more proud than I am today.
Congratulations Brian and thank you Jacque.
Your Aerie President

P.S. R.I.P. Mary Margaret. Our guzzler friend is gone, but not forgotten.
BELIEF IS ALL YOU NEED
A man was lost while driving through the country. As he tried to read a map, he accidentally drove off the road into a ditch. Though he wasn’t injured, his car was stuck deep in the mud. So the man walked to a nearby farm to ask for help. “Warwick can get you out of that ditch,” said the farmer, pointing to an old mule standing in a field. The man looked at the haggardly mule and looked at the farmer who just stood there repeating, “Yep, old Warwick can do the job.” The man figured he had nothing to lose. The two men and Warwick made their way back to the ditch. The farmer hitched the mule to the car. With a snap of the reins he shouted, “Pull, Fred! Pull, Jack! Pull, Ted! Pull, Warwick!” And the mule pulled the car from the ditch with very little effort. The man was amazed. He thanked the farmer, patted the mule and asked, “Why did you call out all of those other
names before you called Warwick?” The farmer grinned and said, “Old Warwick is just about blind. As long as he believes he’s part of a team, he doesn’t mind pulling.”
