The Phoenix Dream Center is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization, which exists to serve human trafficking survivors, at-risk youth, as well as struggling individuals and families by providing free resources, opportunities, and supportive services to help individuals heal from trauma, realize their dreams, and live a self-sufficient life filled with purpose. Founded in 2002, the Phoenix Dream

Center currently serves over 40,000 people each month through various programs and outreaches. From our human trafficking recovery program, leadership school, and diverse community outreaches our mission is to find a need and fill it, find a hurt and heal it.

Our Internship Program is designed for those who want hands-on experience serving others while growing in their faith, leadership, and calling. Whether you're exploring a future in ministry or simply looking to deepen your understanding of how God can use your gifts, this program offers an opportunity to learn, serve, and grow alongside our team.

We currently offer both 𝟯-𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟲-𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

Open to anyone ready to step in, serve, and discover the gifts God may be developing in this season.

Some of the sweetest moments at Little Dreamers Schoolhouse happen in the middle of ordinary afternoons.

Homework spread across tables. Paint drying on tiny hands. Kids excited to show off a project they worked hard on.

During our Friday campus tours, guests have the opportunity to see the spaces where children are learning, creating, building friendships, and simply getting to be kids while families continue their recovery work.

𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱’𝘀 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

So many people showed up ready to play, laugh, compete, and support the work happening at the Phoenix Dream Center. From the first matches to the last conversations hanging around afterward, it was just a really good day.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, volunteered, donated, and helped make the event what it was.

And an extra thank you to @𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗡 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 - 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲 taking such great care of everyone and making the entire event feel effortless from start to finish. The team there did an incredible job, and we’re so grateful for their partnership and support.

We loved getting to spend the day with all of you and already can’t wait to do it again.

𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀.

Markers without caps. Glue sticks are rolling around. Someone was very seriously trying to make sure the ribbon stayed exactly where they wanted it.

They put a lot into them.

This week, the tables were covered in bright paper and half-finished pinwheels as everyone started shifting into summer mode around here.

There’s already a lot of excitement building for the summer program. More projects. More messy tables. More moments for kids to create, connect, and just be kids for a while.

We’re starting to gather a few supplies for the months ahead and would love help with a couple items:

Over at Where Hope Lives, they’re getting ready to start an art class for the girls.

An instructor is already set.
Time carved out during the week.
A table ready.

They just need the supplies to get it going.

Boxes coming in from the back.
A few people standing there for a second… then jumping in wherever they’re needed.

That’s how these volunteer days usually start.

No big instructions.
Just people showing up and figuring it out together.

Some end up in the kitchen.
Some out front.
Some just filling in the gaps wherever they see them.

By the end of it, everything’s in place for the people walking through later.

It’s not one big moment.
It’s a lot of small ones that make the day work.

We’ve been starting to pull together teams for the pickleball tournament.

A little back and forth about matchups.

It’s still early, but it’s starting to take shape.

With something new like this, there’s always that question in the background…How do we make this a really good experience for everyone who shows up?

Michael said that after finishing up a shift, talking about what life looks like now.

He works full-time as a plasma cutter.

Long days. Early mornings.
Steady work.

And when he can, he still comes back here.
Helps where he’s needed.
Checks in on people.
Stays connected.

It didn’t always look like that.

“I’𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗹𝗲.”

When he first showed up, things were rough.

He had just come off alcohol poisoning on the way here.
His knee was shot. Surgery was ahead of him.

“𝗠𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺. 𝗛𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲.”

He didn’t come in with a big plan.
“I had already decided I was going to put the same effort into getting better that I used getting drunk.”

Getting into the routine wasn’t the hard part.

Last Friday, we stepped into the chapel in between classes.

Chairs slightly out of place.
A few notebooks still open.
A couple residents sitting off to the side, talking quietly.

The group got a little quieter after that.

We moved through the clinic, then the daycare.

At each room, the questions started to shift—less about what we do, more about how often, how many people, what a day actually looks like.

That’s usually how it goes.

Somewhere along the way, it stops feeling like a walkthrough
and starts feeling like a day here.

Over time, those small things become part of someone’s day—
and eventually, part of their routine.

𝗜𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘆.

During Homework Club, the kids sat down with air-dry clay and started shaping.

Some rolled it out right away. Some just held it for a minute, figuring out what they wanted to make.

Hands got messy pretty quickly.

You could hear them talking through ideas, changing their minds, starting over, trying again.

A few days later, the pieces were dry and ready to paint. That’s when it got louder.More color.More opinions.

A lot of excitement about which one looked “the best.”They took their time adding details, turning what started as a small piece of clay into something they recognized as their own.
By the end, they were holding them up, showing each other, pointing out what they made.
Some didn’t want to put them down.

It’s more than an event. It’s a gathering of people who believe freedom is possible. It’s for the ones doing the hard work of recovery. For the families rebuilding trust. For the community members who want to stand in the gap and say, you’re not doing this alone.

Chain Breakers is a reminder that healing takes courage, support, and people willing to show up. Sometimes breaking a chain starts with one brave step through the door. Sometimes it starts with someone in the crowd deciding to help carry the weight.

And yes, there will be powerful stories. But there will also be ordinary, real moments. Conversations. Prayer. A room full of people choosing hope on purpose.
