Meet Teresa Prieto. She's been part of our program at Perryville prison for the last six months, and this month she walks out ready to start fresh.

Teresa's story is one of so many women who just needed a real chance. KJZZ Phoenix covered what that looks like and why it matters. Read the full story 👇

We're so grateful to all our partners, especially Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU, and the Arizona Department of Corrections, who help us show up for women like Teresa every single day. 🩵

Women are a small but growing segment of the state’s prison population, and their needs are distinct. Yet, many of the programs designed to prepare them for release were primarily tailored for men. There are efforts in Arizona aimed at giving incarcerated women a real second chance.

A second chance can change everything.

It can mean a mother reunited with her children. A woman earning her first professional credential. A family finding stability after years of uncertainty. A future that once felt impossible becoming reality.

At Televerde Foundation, we see these transformations every day. We also know they only happen because people choose to believe in the potential of women determined to rewrite their stories.

Right now, your support can have an even greater impact.

A generous donor has challenged us to raise $100,000 by June 30 and will match it with up to $400,000.

That means every dollar you give works four times harder to help women access education, workforce development, mentorship, and reentry support.
This opportunity ends June 30.

Will you help us unlock every matching dollar and create more second chances?

This is one of the most powerful moments in Televerde Foundation history — and we don't want you to miss it.

A generous donor has issued a challenge: raise $100,000 by June 30th, and they will match up to $400,000.

That means your gift today could be worth four times as much. A $25 donation becomes $100. A $100 donation becomes $400. Every dollar working harder for the women who need it most.

These are women rebuilding their lives, reconnecting with their families, and stepping into careers they once believed were out of reach. Your support — amplified by this match — helps make that possible.

But this opportunity disappears at the end of June.

Help us unlock every matching dollar https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/match--2026

Even after rebuilding a successful career, many formerly incarcerated individuals continue facing barriers long after release.

Alicia Rasta shares her story which highlights the lasting impact of collateral consequences and the ways stigma can continue to limit opportunity, mobility, and belonging years after incarceration.

At Televerde Foundation, we believe rehabilitation should mean more than surviving a sentence. It should include the opportunity to fully participate in society and move forward without permanent barriers tied to the past.

In a feature originally published by The Observer, we reflect on Alicia’s story and the broader conversation around second chances, rehabilitation, and what true reintegration should look like.
