PKM Polish Folk Dance Ensemble is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with a rich history going back to 1915 when it was originally founded as "P.K.M - Polskie Kolko Miedzykolegialne" (The Polish Intercollegiate Club of Philadelphia) -- a Polish social, educational, and cultural organization. The Folk Dance Ensemble was established in 1960 to allow PKM members to celebrate their Polish culture thr

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Congratulations to Julia Gabryszewski (our ‘25-‘26 Miss PKM) on graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree from Arcadia University with a double Major in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Sociology, as well as a double minor in Forensic Investigation and Italian

During her studies Julia was part of a GFS (Global Field Study) in England and Switzerland focusing on Forensics and Court systems!

Additionally, she studied abroad in Perugia Italy for the spring semester of 2024! 🇮🇹🍝🍕

Happy Śmigus-Dyngus from PKM! 🇵🇱 Watch out for the splash today!🪣💧

Celebrated on Easter Monday, Śmigus-Dyngus (also known as Lany Poniedziałek or Wet Monday) is a centuries-old Polish tradition where people playfully drench each other with water.

Historically, young men would throw water on the women they fancied as a sign of affection, a wish for good health, and to welcome the spring season. What started as a courting ritual has evolved into a fun, lighthearted country-wide water fight where no one is safe from getting soaked!
