WePAC’s mission is to promote childhood literacy in West Philadelphia by providing access to high quality, representative books and literacy enrichment that inspire children to become lifelong readers.

It's National Intern Day 2026! 👩🏻‍💻📓✍🏻💡

Today we celebrate the hard work and fresh perspectives of our summer interns: Abood and Miranda.

🤩 ✨Abood is a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. This summer, he's working on WePAC's library system migration and helping to modernize the catalogs. Outside of work, he enjoys running, music, and cooking/trying new food spots in Philly.

🤩 ✨Miranda is a rising sophomore at Brandeis University studying Biology. This summer, she’s working on WePAC’s Read Aloud guide. Outside of WePAC summer work, Miranda is also studying for her EMT license.

With August just around the corner, the new school year will be here before we know it! We can't wait to be back in our partner school libraries, but we need your help! We are looking for more volunteers to help staff our libraries!

Weekly volunteer responsibilities include...
📚conducting picture book read alouds,
📚facilitating fun literacy focused activities, &
📚the best part–helping students find highly desired books for checkout!
