We’re excited to launch the District Council 33 Lapel Pin Design Contest!
We know our members have children with incredible talent, creativity, and imagination — and now we’re giving them a chance to shine. We’re inviting the dependents of DC33 members, ages 20 and under, to design a brand new lapel pin that our Council delegates will proudly share at AFSCME International Conferences across the country.
This is their moment to show off their skills, celebrate AFSCME pride, and leave their mark on our union’s history.
All the details on how to submit entries are on the flyer. We can’t wait to see what our young artists create. Good luck to all!

Get ready, DC33 family — Dorney Park Day is almost here!
We’re excited to announce that District Council 33 Family Day ticket sales will begin on Monday, May 18, 2026! This is one of our favorite annual traditions, and we can’t wait to celebrate a full day of rides, food, and family fun with our members.
Ticket Prices:
• Members: $20 each
• Dependents: $20 each
• Retirees: $25 each
• Guests of members (limit of two): $25 each

DC33 members are called to the front lines this May Day. Join us as we demand a city and an economy that put workers first. The Workers Over Billionaires movement is about ending the imbalance that leaves the people who keep Philadelphia running fighting for basic fairness while billionaires collect record profits.
For union members, this fight is not symbolic. It’s about wages that keep up with the cost of living, safe staffing, real job security, and respect for the work we do every day. When workers stand together, we shift the balance of power.
Show up. Stand strong. Make it clear that Philadelphia’s workforce will not be ignored.

DC33 NIGHT OUT WITH THE PHILLIES — TICKET SALES BEGIN TODAY!
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, District Council 33 is taking over Citizens Bank Park as our Phillies take on — and s***k — the Miami Marlins! What better way to end the school year and kick off the summer than a night at the ballpark with your union family?
Tickets are $25 each, and each active member may purchase up to four tickets.
Important:
• All tickets MUST be reserved in advance using the QR code or link provided below.
• Only active members are eligible to purchase tickets.
• You may NOT reserve tickets by calling the Union Hall.
• Once your reservation is confirmed, you’ll receive a callback with instructions on when to pick up your tickets.
• No tickets will be sold without a reservation.
Ticket quantities are limited — once they’re gone, they’re gone until the next game.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and coworkers of Abdul‑Qaadir Mateem Turner. To many of us, he was simply Qaadir — a steady presence, a dedicated leader, and a brother in the labor movement.

Qaadir proudly served as a member of Local 394 and formerly held roles as Shop Steward, Delegate, Executive Board Member, and Building Manager at District Council 33 Headquarters. His commitment, kindness, and service touched countless lives, and his absence will be felt deeply throughout our union family.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Monday, March 30, at Khadijah Alderman Funeral Service Inc., located at 1924 W. Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
Prayer will begin at 10:00 AM.

May his memory be a blessing, and may we continue to honor his legacy through the work and unity he believed in.
