The A.J. Drexel Autism Institute is excited to offer the inaugural SDARI Instructor Training on August 22, 2026, in Philadelphia, PA.

SDARI (Socio-Dramatic Affective Relational Intervention) is an evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming social group program for autistic youth ages 8-17. This full-day, hands-on training provides the skills, materials, and practical experience needed to implement SDARI in clinical, school, and community settings.

Training Includes:

The AJ Drexel Autism Institute’s Social Connections & Treatment Lab - SCTL is working in collaboration with Temple University’s Social Developmental Neuroscience Lab for a new study enrolling children 9-13 years old!

The goal of our study is to help us learn about how children with autism process social and nonsocial rewards. Families eligible to join this study will be compensated as a thank you for their time.

You can get intervention services while waiting for an autism evaluation at no cost to you!

We’re inviting caregivers of a young child (16-48 months) to join a research study offering:
- Access to an online program to support your child’s social, language, and other important skills at no cost to you
- $150 upon completion of study activities

What’s involved?
- Three interviews (1–2 hours each) over 6 months
- Complete trainings (~2 hours each) at your own pace, choosing those that best address your child’s strengths and needs

Recruiting Now for Fall!
✨ SDARI (Socio-Dramatic Affective Relational Intervention) is an improv-based social group designed to build confidence, friendships, and social-emotional skills in a fun, neuro-affirming environment.
✨ This clinic group is for autistic youth ages 8–17
✨ 10-week program using engaging improv games and theater activities to build real-life skills like flexibility, perspective-taking, and reading social cues.
✨ Small groups (3:1 ratio)
✨ No acting experience needed
✨ In-person at AJ Drexel Autism Institute (in Philadelphia, PA across from 30th Street Station)
✨ Scholarships available thanks to the Miranda Family Foundation & Weisbrot Family
