Today at the Kroc Center, our community had access to vital health screenings—including blood work, eye exams, and more—helping detect concerns early and promote long-term wellness into key areas of health, including:
Diabetes or prediabetes through blood sugar levels
Cholesterol levels to assess heart disease risk
Kidney and liver function
Indicators of infections or anemia
Eye health concerns such as glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal issues
Early signs of diabetes-related eye damage
Kidney disease or reduced kidney function
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

The Kroc Karate Program continues to grow and develop its youth, providing a safe and supportive environment for kids to learn and thrive. Under the guidance of Sensei Maceo, two of the students in the Kroc Dojo recently passed their first examination, and earning the right to graduate to their yellow belt!

We're excited to see the young karate ka continue to grow and develop their skills as they progress through the program!

Spread Love, Not Bullets 🧡

Yesterday our community came together for something powerful.

Spread Love, Not Bullets was more than an event—it was a shared moment of healing, learning, and collective action against gun violence in our city.
Throughout the symposium, courageous and honest conversations took place. Panelists and community members created space to listen, reflect, and speak truth about the realities of gun violence, while also sharing hope, solutions, and pathways forward.
Our Resource Fair connected attendees with programs and organizations actively working to prevent gun violence and support those impacted. From education and advocacy to healing services and community support, resources were shared with purpose and intention.
Visitors also engaged in meaningful, hands-on activities that spoke to love, remembrance, and peace—Dribble for Peace, Plant a Seed for a Loved One, and so much more. Each activity was a reminder that healing can take many forms, and that every action—big or small—matters.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up, volunteered, prayed, participated, and believed in the power of community. Together, we are choosing love. Together, we are standing for peace.
