Fostering Hope Philly-NE supports foster, kinship, adoptive & reunifying families in Northeast Philadelphia through our community closet, providing clothing, hygiene items, baby gear & essentials.

That’s how many children Fostering Hope Philly-NE served in August.

Behind that number are foster, kinship, adoptive, and reunifying families who came to us for clothing, shoes, hygiene items, baby gear, and everyday essentials.

And behind every one of those families is this community.

The donors who keep our shelves stocked. The volunteers who sort, organize, and welcome families. The supporters who share our posts, answer a need, or simply help spread the word.

47 kids supported in one month because so many people choose to show up.

What an incredible outpouring of support!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Used Clothing Drive this weekend, organized collections in their neighborhoods, scheduled pickups, shared our posts, and helped us spread the word.

Because of you, bags and bins of gently used children's clothing came through our doors and are now ready to help stock our Philly NE closet for local children and families experiencing foster care and crisis.

Our closet is 100% community supported, and weekends like this are such a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together to help.

To every person who cleaned out a closet, filled a bag, made a trip or helped behind the scenes, thank you. We are so grateful for this community!

The donations are already rolling in for today’s Used Clothing Drive, and we are so grateful. Look at all of this clothing ready for a second life in our community closet!

There’s still plenty of time to clean out those closets and join us.

A little behind the scenes of how our closet gets stocked. 🧡

Today we made a big pickup from Fostering Hope headquarters, and our car came back FULL. Clothing, diapers, hygiene items, baby essentials, and so much more, all headed to our Philly-NE community closet.

While so much of what fills our shelves comes directly from the generosity of our local community, there’s another team working behind the scenes too.

Throughout the year, our Fostering Hope board members work hard to build relationships and secure large donations that chapters like ours can request based on the needs of the families we serve.

It takes a lot of people working together to keep our community closets stocked and ready for the next family who needs us.

Today, we’re especially grateful for our board, the businesses and organizations that support Fostering Hope, and everyone who helps make pickups like this possible. 🧡

Now, time to get it all onto the shelves!

Tomorrow is a busy day at Fostering Hope Philly-NE! 🧡

On Saturday, August 15, our community closet will be open from 10 AM–12 PM for two important reasons:

🧡 OPEN SHOP
Foster, kinship, adoptive, and reunifying families are invited to shop for clothing, shoes, and essentials at no cost. Everything is thoughtfully organized and ready for you.

🧡 USED CLOTHING DRIVE
We’ll also be accepting gently used children’s and teen clothing in **ALL SEASONS**, summer, fall, winter, and spring.

Back-to-school season usually means one thing: realizing just how much the kids have outgrown. 🧡

Before you pack those clothes away, consider passing them along to a child who can use them.

Our Used Clothing Drive is collecting gently used children's and teen clothing in **ALL SEASONS and sizes**. We're stocking our community closet not just for today, but for the needs that will come throughout the year.

A good rule of thumb: if you'd happily pass it along to a friend, we'd be happy to receive it.

Look what you made possible. 🧡

July brought so much generosity to Fostering Hope Philly-NE, and we want to take a moment to say thank you.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Pick-a-Date fundraiser, and especially to one generous donor, we were able to purchase all of the clothing you see here to help stock our community closet and fill some of the gaps where we needed it most.

But the generosity didn’t stop there.

We also received a wonderful clothing donation, a beautiful handmade crochet blanket, and an incredible collection of toys that is already helping us get a head start on our holiday giving.

Every donation looks a little different, but each one helps us do the same thing: be ready when a foster, kinship, adoptive, or reunifying family needs us.

To everyone who donated, shopped our needs, made something by hand, shared our requests, or simply chose to support our mission in July... Thank you!

This community continues to show us what can happen when people come together to care for families right here in our area. We are so grateful. 🧡

Our Used Clothing Drive is back! 🧡

As you clean out closets before the new school year, we’d love for you to keep Fostering Hope Philly-NE in mind.

We’re collecting gently used clothing for children and teens—and this time, we’re accepting **ALL SEASONS!**

Shorts and tees, jeans and hoodies, pajamas, coats and everything in between. If it’s clean, in good condition, and ready for another child to enjoy, we’d love to have it.
