Fostering Hope wants to provide an exchange of resources to those who are willing and able to turn their families into foster families.

Fostering Hope Philly-NE supports foster, kinship, adoptive & reunifying families in Northeast Philadelphia through our community closet, providing clothing, hygiene items, baby gear & essentials.

Help us give a big Fostering Hope welcome to our new Outreach Coordinator, Laura! 🧡

Although the role is new, Laura definitely isn’t. She’s volunteered with our Philly-NE closet for the past eight months, so she already knows our families, our mission, and how much happens behind the scenes to keep this little operation moving.

Now she’s taking on a new role helping us build relationships out in the community, connect with local businesses and organizations, coordinate collections, and find new ways to bring resources into our closet.

We’re growing our team, growing our reach, and hopefully growing the number of people who know about and support the work happening here.

We’re so happy to have Laura helping us make those connections.

It’s Wish List Wednesday, and this week we have a BIG need. 🧡

Our hygiene shelves are running very low, and we’re in desperate need of toiletries for the children and teens who visit our closet.

We’ve created an Amazon Wish List filled with the everyday essentials we need most, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion, hair care products, feminine products, and more.

These may feel like small things, but having the basics you need to feel clean and cared for matters.

If you’d like to help us restock, shop our **Hygiene Essentials Amazon Wish List**. Every item will go directly onto our closet shelves and into the hands of a local family who needs it.

Some people volunteer. Some people become part of the foundation. 🧡

Amy has been with Fostering Hope Philly-NE since the very beginning, helping turn an empty space into the community closet we have today.

As our Closet Manager, she spent countless hours sorting donations, organizing shelves, preparing for Open Shops, changing over seasons, and making sure our closet was ready for the families who walked through our doors. As Amy steps away from her role, we want to say a huge thank you for everything she poured into this closet and our chapter.

Amy, you helped build this from the ground up, and we are so grateful for you. 🧡

If you’re a local foster, kinship, adoptive, or reunifying family, our Philly-NE community closet is here for you.

Shop clothing, shoes, diapers, hygiene products, baby gear, and everyday essentials for the children in your care, all at no cost.

Sometimes, it really does happen that fast.

One of our foster families needed a car seat.

One check with Fostering Hope headquarters, and we found out they had exactly what we needed and it was ours for the family.

One email, and we had a volunteer willing to pick it up.

And now? This car seat is on its way to its new home.

This is one of those little behind-the-scenes moments that shows what Fostering Hope is really about. A family has a need, someone reaches out, and a whole network of people starts working to fill it.

Our headquarters helps keep our chapters supplied. Our volunteers help get those supplies where they need to go. And because of the businesses, organizations, and individuals who donate to Fostering Hope, sometimes the answer to “Can we help this family?” gets to be a really quick YES.

Today, that help looks like a car seat.

Tomorrow, it might be diapers, clothing, a crib, or something else entirely. Whatever it is, we’re grateful to be part of a community that keeps showing up 🧡

You collect it. We put it to work. 🧡

When your business, school, church, team, neighborhood, or group hosts a donation drive for Fostering Hope Philly-NE, those donations don’t sit around waiting for somewhere to go.

They come into our closet, get sorted and organized by our volunteers, and make their way onto our shelves so they’re ready for the next family who needs them.

Then, during our Open Shops, foster, kinship, adoptive, and reunifying families can choose clothing and everyday essentials for the children in their care, all at no cost.

And when those shelves start getting empty? We do it all over again.

That’s why community collection drives matter so much to us. They help keep this cycle going and keep our closet ready.

Hosting a donation drive for Fostering Hope Philly-NE doesn’t have to be complicated. Gather your coworkers, neighbors, school, church, team, or community group, choose a need, and start collecting.

And we’ve already done some of the work for you.

Our new Donation Drive Toolkit includes ready-to-customize flyers, our logo, and information about Fostering Hope Philly-NE, plus everything you need to get your collection started.

Choose from pajamas, underwear + socks, diapers + wipes, hygiene essentials, gift cards for our teens, or have everyone in your group Shop for a Kid.

You bring the people. We’ll help with the rest.
