🎉🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FOUNDER, JAMOREY GOSHA! 🎂🎉

Today, we celebrate a man with a heart for serving, a passion for giving, and a vision for making a difference! 💙

As the Founder of The Focus Initiative, Jamorrey Gosha continues to show us that true leadership isn’t about what you receive, but about what you give to others. ❤️

🎁 This year, his birthday wish is a little different!

He’s not asking for personal gifts, presents, or anything for himself. Instead, he’s asking everyone to join him in his Birthday Giving Challenge! 🎉

What better way to celebrate someone who pours so much into others than by helping him continue to make a positive impact in our communities?

💙 Let’s show up, show love, and GIVE BACK! No act of generosity is too small when we’re working together to make a difference.

🎶 : What if the thing we need most isn’t another thing at all?

Life gets busy, but worship has a way of bringing us back to what matters most: Jesus!

🙌🏽 This Worship Wednesday, take a moment with the FOCUS Worship Ensemble as we sing “Just Want You.”

Before the serving, the programs, and the work, our hearts have to stay centered on Him.

Turn the volume up and worship with us.

Jesus, we just want You. 🤍

Share this with someone who needs a moment of worship today.

🔥 KILL GOLIATH! 🔥

Stop running from the giant God has already equipped you to defeat! 🙌🏾

Goliath may look like fear, doubt, disappointment, financial struggles, sickness, rejection, or something you’ve been battling for years. But remember—David didn’t focus on how BIG Goliath was; he focused on how BIG his GOD was! 💪🏾🙏🏾

🎶 : A legacy lives on when it creates opportunities for the next generation.

✨ The Focus Initiative is proud to celebrate Ella Knight, recipient of the William Gosha Sr. Legacy Through Music & Fine Arts Scholarship!

A graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama, Ella is continuing her journey at Mercer University, carrying with her the creativity, dedication, and promise that this scholarship was created to support.

Named in honor of William Gosha Sr., this scholarship celebrates a legacy rooted in music and recognizes young people who are using their gifts in music and the fine arts to pursue their purpose and make an impact.

Ella, we are proud to invest in your journey and excited to see where your gifts take you. May you continue creating, growing, and sharing what God has placed within you. ❤️

Join us in congratulating Ella Knight and wishing her well at Mercer University!

🌆 The view was beautiful, but what we were celebrating mattered even more.

✨ High above Washington, D.C., we gathered for our Student Leadership Institute Rooftop Celebration Dinner, an evening dedicated to celebrating how far our students have come and reminding them of how much possibility still lies ahead.

We were honored to welcome former Councilwoman Renita Cason as our guest speaker. She challenged and encouraged our students as they continue discovering what leadership, service, and impact can look like in their own lives.

Against the backdrop of the nation’s capital, we shared a meal, reflected on the SLI journey, laughed together, and celebrated a group of young leaders who have spent this experience learning to see themselves differently.

Sometimes a young person needs to see a new city, sit at a different table, hear from someone who has led before them, and realize, “There’s room for me here, too.” This dinner was a celebration, but their journey is far from over. 💫

Help us celebrate our SLI students in the comments! 👏🏾

❤️ : Our biggest season of service is right around the corner.

As we prepare for fall and winter, service opportunities across The Focus Initiative are about to ramp up, and we’re looking for people who are ready to serve alongside us.

From supporting families and students to community outreach and some of our largest service efforts of the year, there will be plenty of ways to get involved.

You don’t have to have a special title or a lot of time. Just bring a willing heart and a desire to make a difference.

Our mission is to spread the compassion of Christ through active community service and engagement, and we’d love for you to help us live that mission out through the rest of 2026. 🙌🏾

🇺🇸 : They came to D.C. to see history. They’re here to imagine their place in it. ✨

Days 1 & 2 of our SLI D.C. Culmination Experience are in the books, and we still have TWO more days ahead!

📍 DAY 1 | WASHINGTON, D.C.

After arriving and grabbing dinner, our students kicked off their experience with a Monuments at Night Welcome to D.C. Tour. 🌙🏛️

⛪ DAY 2 | ANNAPOLIS, MD

Sunday began with worship at Calvary UMC Annapolis, where our SLI students had the opportunity to share a special message with the congregation. 🙏🏾

After worship, we headed into historic Annapolis to tour the Maryland House, enjoy dinner at the famous Chick & Ruth’s Delly, and spend some time exploring downtown Annapolis.

But this trip is about much more than seeing new places.

SLI is about exposing our students to history, leadership, faith, service, and new possibilities. We want them to walk into these spaces and begin to see that they belong there, too.

And with TWO more days to go, there’s still so much ahead. 👀🏛️

Stay with us as we continue our SLI D.C. Culmination Experience!
