🏹 HERE WE GO—OUR FIRST OFFICIAL BOW PRESENTATION! 🇺🇸

Friends, family, and supporters of Bows for Battle, we are incredibly excited and humbled to announce that we will be presenting our first five bows to deserving veterans on January 16 and 17, 2027, during the Winter Warrior 3D Shoot at Sherwood Forest Bowmen in Sussex, Wisconsin.

This is a huge milestone for our organization. What began as an idea to help veterans find purpose, connection, camaraderie, and healing through archery is officially becoming a reality. These five bows represent so much more than equipment—they represent new opportunities, new friendships, and another positive outlet for veterans who have already given so much.

We cannot make this event successful without the support of our community, and I am humbly asking my friends, family, and fellow veteran supporters to help us however they can.

We are looking for:

🏹 Volunteers willing to donate their time and help us work the event
🎁 Donations of items to help us build raffle baskets
💵 Financial donations of any amount to help cover event expenses and support our mission
🤝 Connections to businesses, organizations, or individuals who are passionate about helping veterans

No amount of time, support, or generosity is too small. Every volunteer, donated item, shared post, business connection, and dollar raised helps us continue moving toward our mission of reducing avoidable veteran loss through archery, mentorship, outdoor activities, and camaraderie.

I am beyond grateful for everyone who has encouraged us, supported us, and believed in what Bows for Battle is working to accomplish. We are just getting started, and I truly hope you will join us for this incredible milestone.

👕 Clothing Needs

A clean shirt. A sturdy pair of shoes. A fresh start.

The right clothing can help a veteran walk into a job interview with confidence, stay warm during difficult seasons, and take the next step toward rebuilding their life.

We're currently seeking men's shoes (all sizes) and men's clothing in sizes 2XL–4XL.

The Big Bass Battle is back for its 13th year!

We’re excited to share that the Big Bass Battle supporting Wisconsin Hero Outdoors is returning on Sunday, August 9, 2026!

This year, we’re introducing an exciting format change: each angler will register individually instead of as a traditional 2-person team.

Our goal with this change is to make the event more flexible and fun, allowing families and friends to fish together without the constraints of a 2-person team.

A few important details:
- Individual registration for every angler
- Boats may have up to 4 anglers total
- Anglers must have access to a motorized boat with a functioning live well
- Each angler may weigh one bass per weigh-in period
- Anglers may only weigh fish they personally caught
- Entry fee: $125 per angler age 13+
- Entry fee: $100 per angler age 12 and under

Please note: If you’re signing up as a non-boater, you must make your own arrangements to be in a motorized boat with a functioning live well. The Big Bass Battle will not provide a boat for tournament day.

We’re looking forward to another incredible day on the water, bringing anglers together and supporting veterans and first responders through Wisconsin Hero Outdoors.

Wednesday, June 10, Wisconsin Homeless Veterans Initiative (WHVI) will host our annual Bikes for Stripes Resource Fair at the West Allis Farmers Market.

Bikes for Stripes is about more than providing a bicycle. It's about helping veterans regain transportation, independence, and access to employment, appointments, and essential resources.

Veterans attending may have the opportunity to receive:

✅ A bicycle
✅ Beautiful artwork
✅ Access to local veteran resources
✅ Lunch and community support
