Grant Withers, age 15, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Grant was born July 10, 2009 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Richard and Leslie (Bennett.)
Mourning his passing are his mother, Leslie (husband Robert) Clifton; siblings, Tucker, Wyatt, Maci Withers, and Lane Clifton; grandparents, Thomas and Jody Bennett, and Mary Withers; great-grandmother, Carol McHenry; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, George Withers; and two great-grandfathers, Harold McHenry and Merle Bennett.
Grant was a student at PORTA High School.
He was a member of the 4-H and FFA.
Grant loved hunting with his brother, fishing, riding his dirt bike, working, and spending time on the lake with his friends. He loved playing sports, including: football, baseball and basketball.
Visitation for Grant will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 9:00 until time of funeral services 12:00 PM at the Athens Christian Church with Rev. Shane Baker officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Grant Withers Benefit Fund at Petefish, Skiles & Co. Bank in Petersburg.
