To celebrate America 250, Perth Amboy Artworks has sponsored a 660 sqft mural located on the waterfront walk by Raritan Yacht Club. Local artist Julisa Mugica designed the mural featuring a mermaid and aquatic life. The mural is in a high foot traffic area sure to be enjoyed by the community.

Production is underway and the mural will be ready in time for the summer celebrations. The project provides the opportunity to learn the art of mural making by high school interns working with the lead artist on the production.

The mural showcases the vibrancy and talent of our community and captures the joy, complexity and enduring legacy of the United States.

We appreciate the support of the Perth Amboy Arts Council, the Perth Amboy City Council, the Perth Amboy Office of Economic Development, the Perth Amboy Department of Public Works, the Perth Amboy Police Department and the Raritan Yacht Club and our all our donors. Perth Amboy Artworks was awarded a $5,000 grant for 2026 for Salsa by the Bay from The Arts Institute of Middlesex County and the Board of County Commissioners. Salsa by the Bay in beautiful Bayview Park features an hour long free group dance lesson by top Latin Dance instructors and then two hours of open dancing to live Salsa by amazing Salsa Bands and a Latin fusion food truck. The three dates are being scheduled now and we look forward to announcing the schedule and lineup and having an amazing time again this summer.
