The Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio will host its 24th Annual Parkinson Symposium: Foundational Knowledge to Future Directions on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2592 Parkway Plaza in Maumee. Doors open at 8 a.m., with a continental breakfast and lunch provided.

For many individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, the journey can feel isolating and overwhelming. This annual symposium is designed to change that by bringing together individuals with Parkinson’s, caregivers, family members, and leading physicians to foster education, support, and connection.

Participants will gain practical strategies for symptom management, insights into improving quality of life, and tools to navigate the complexities of Parkinson’s with greater confidence.
The program will feature clinical expertise from Dr. Mehmood Rashid and colleagues from the UT Health Neurology Department. Topics will include causes of Parkinsonism, strategic disease management, genetics, emerging gene and cell therapies, and approaches to living well with Parkinson’s.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with regional vendors, including caregivers, rehabilitation centers, therapists, pharmaceutical representatives, and medical device providers—organizations at the forefront of Parkinson’s care and support.

Most importantly, this symposium sends a powerful message: you are not alone.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required by April 3.
