Illinois currently restricts public pension funds, including those supporting teachers’ retirement, from investing in certain companies that boycott Israel.
This raises important questions about protecting our retirement investments, workers’ rights, and freedom of expression.
A YES vote supports asking lawmakers to repeal these restrictions, but it would not automatically change the law or increase pension benefits.
Regardless of where you stand, it’s important to understand how decisions about public pension investments can affect educators and retirees. Our pensions deserve careful financial stewardship, transparency, and informed decision-making.
Make sure you know what you’re voting on November 3!
