What an incredible day of giving back to the community we love! Today, the Kiwanis Club of Pekin was honored to award a grand total of $7,950 in community grants to 12 amazing local organizations, alongside $2,000 in scholarships to two outstanding Key Club Students!
Every single one of these recipients works tirelessly to support, educate, and uplift the children of Pekin. We are so proud to partner with them and invest in their missions.
This capping off a phenomenal couple of weeks for our club, following last week’s Bike Rodeo where our army of volunteers and club members taught roughly 120 kids about bike safety, sending 24 lucky kids home with brand-new bikes!
Seeing how these funds will be put to work reminds us exactly why we love serving Pekin. Thank you to our members, our community partners, and everyone who makes this impactful work possible!

Today, we teamed up with the park camp organization to host an incredible afternoon focused on fun, safety, and community for our local kids!
From navigating the bicycle obstacle course to learning essential safety tips, it was wonderful seeing so many smiling faces out at the Memorial Arena Parking Lot. A huge event like this takes a village, and we want to extend a special thank you to our local EMTs, firefighters, and the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department for coming out to support the kids, share their expertise, and help keep everyone safe!
Our dedicated Kiwanians & Key Club members were hard at work setting up early, directing traffic, and guiding the campers through the course. A massive thank you to the park camp organization for partnering with us, and to all of our amazing volunteers who stepped up to lend a hand and make today a huge success. Every extra hand truly makes a difference in empowering the youth of our community!

We hit up both Kiwanis Park North and Kiwanis Park South this morning, and I’m thrilled to report that our community spaces are looking fantastic. Honestly, our local parks didn't need much work at all, which is the best kind of news!
It's awesome to see our town taking such good care of these spaces, making them clean, safe, and ready for the kids to enjoy all summer long.

What an incredible day of service! Our local Kiwanis team got together recently to roll up our sleeves and stuff backpacks for students heading back to school this fall.
There is nothing quite like the energy of coming together to ensure every child in our community starts their first day with the tools they need to succeed. From notebooks and folders to pencils and glue sticks, these packs are ready to go!
A massive THANK YOU to Pekin Community High School District 303 for involving us in this initiative. We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with you and help support our local students. It’s collaborations like these that make our community such a special place to live and grow.

The Kiwanis Club of Pekin is honored to have recently participated in the Meals from the Heart program at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois in Peoria.
Our team spent yesterday evening preparing and serving a home-cooked meal for families currently staying at the House. When a child is receiving medical treatment, the last thing a parent should have to worry about is where their next meal is coming from. By providing a warm dinner, we hope to offer a small sense of comfort and "home" during an incredibly challenging time.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined our Kiwanis team on the bike trail today. We made a massive dent in the cleanup, but the work doesn’t stop when we pack up the tools.
Maintaining the beauty of our community isn’t a one-day job—it’s a collective habit. While events like today make a visible impact, true change happens when we all take ownership of our backyard every single day. Whether it's picking up a single piece of litter on your morning walk or joining us for the next event, every bit of participation counts. We hope everyone gets a chance to participate in the Picking up Pekin Event happening Saturday, April 25th @ 9AM!
