The last couple of Pekin Rotary meetings have been entertaining, informative and educational. We heard from fellow long time Rotarian Jerry Tupper about his family trip to Great Britain to meet many of his family members, and to learn about their families history and contributions to the history of Great Britain and around the world. Something every family may want to consider.

Last week we heard from our city manager John Dossey who spoke about what a day in the life of a city manager is like. Invited to speak by Rotarian Mayor Mary Burress, we learned how his day starts very early before sunrise, and his efforts to manage and delegate all that pops up, related to city business during his day.

If you would like to be a part of a service club that impacts our lives here in Pekin Illinois, we invite you to reach out to any Rotarian or come to one of our lunch meetings on Wednesday at the Miller Center.

Pekin Rotary had a changing of the guard last week with Dean Cooper handing off the gavel to Anna Green. Our club has been blessed with great leadership over the years and we thank Dean for his fantastic year and believe in and support Anna has she takes on her new role.

Anyone who wants to be a part of the most dynamic servvice club in Pekin should visit with us during one of our Wednesday luncheon meetings at the Miller Center

To top it off, we had a great speaker in Jeff Rendon who served as the Chaplain for the Federal Prision located here in Pekin and following his retirement became a lifeguard and instructor at the local YWCA.

Pekin Residents...you are missing some great opportunities by not belonging to the best service club in Pekin. Our wednesday meeting had some great food prepared by TCRC, Inc. and a very informative speaker, Katie Alsap, the Community Engagement Development Coordinator for the Ronald McDonald House in Peoria. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families that need to be with their loved ones that are hospitalized for long stays at a time.

The Pekin Rotary Club meets every Wednesday for lunch at the Miller Center. We invite any adult that wants to be a part of making a difference in our community.
