In Genesis 15:6, it says Abraham believed God.
The ancient Hebrew word used for "believed" is אָמַן (ʾāman). Its meaning is structural; it means to be firm, reliable, steady, and supported. Picture a young child leaning their entire physical weight back into a father’s arms.

That is exactly what Abraham did in the middle of total uncertainty. He didn't have a visible roadmap for his life, but he threw the full weight of his future, his family, and his worries onto the character of God.

If your tomorrow feels unpredictable today, you don't have to balance that heavy burden on your own. Take a deep breath and let the Lord carry your weight. He is an unshakeable foundation that will not buckle under pressure.

Why do we say "Amen" after we pray?

It is so deeply woven into our daily routines that it’s easy to treat it like a punctuation mark. A holy exclamation at the end of a sentence. But the ancient language reveals something much deeper.

Long before it ever became a closing statement for our conversations with God, this exact root word was used to define the single greatest act of faith in the Old Testament.

When Genesis 15:6 records that Abraham believed God in the middle of total uncertainty, the word translated as believed comes from the exact same Hebrew root that gives us Amen: אָמַן (ʾāman).

The word implies stability, dependability, assurance, trustworthiness, and something strong enough to bear weight.

In our modern language, "faith" can easily sound like an abstract feeling. But biblical faith isn't a feeling you have to conjure up. It is a structural reality. It is the image of a traveler stepping out onto a solid stone bridge because they know it will hold their weight.

Abraham didn't have a visible roadmap for his future, but he had a baseline conviction about the nature of the Promise-Keeper.

Every time you whisper Amen, you are stepping onto that same immovable bridge. You aren't just saying "so be it." You are declaring that even when your circumstances are shifting, God's Word is strong enough to carry your weight.

Helping people everywhere live God's Word.

"That man…where is He? How can we meet that man?"

After hearing the story of Jesus for the very first time, that was the question villagers asked Leonard.

They had listened with amazement as he shared stories of Jesus' miracles and power. Wanting to know more, they assumed Jesus must be someone living in a nearby village.

For Leonard, the moment was unforgettable.

It was also a reminder that many communities across rural Africa still have little or no access to God's Word.

For years, Leonard has traveled to remote villages across Namibia and neighboring countries places far from paved roads, churches, and basic resources. Yet each time he steps into the unknown, he discovers the same truth:

God is already there.

Long before Leonard arrives, God is already at work, preparing hearts and opening doors for people to encounter His Word.

Four men with leprosy found themselves trapped between a starving city and an enemy army.

Behind them was Samaria, a city dying from famine. Ahead of them was the Aramean army. Neither option felt safe. Neither option offered certainty.

So they turned to one another and asked a simple, defining question:

“Why sit here until we die?” — 2 Kings 7:3

What happened next is one of the most remarkable moments in Scripture.

The men chose to move forward, even though they had no idea what waited for them ahead. What they couldn't see was that God had already gone before them.

Before they took a single step toward the Aramean camp, God had already been at work. He caused the Aramean army to hear the sounds of chariots, horses, and a great army approaching. In fear, they fled, leaving behind food, supplies, and everything the people of Samaria desperately needed.

Before the lepers saw provision, God had already provided; He had already made a way. The miracle was already in process before they reached the camp.

Sometimes trusting God looks less like having all the answers and more like taking the next faithful step.

It may be a difficult conversation. A submitted application. A move you never planned to make. A hard decision. A prayer you've been hesitant to pray. A chance to share the good news with someone who needs it. Or simply stepping into a season you never expected to enter.

You may not know exactly what lies ahead for you or the people you love this summer.

But the God who goes before you does.

And that changes everything.
