Congratulations Rage!
🚨 PAWLING RAGE 8U IS HEADING TO THE GHVBL CHAMPIONSHIP! 🚨
What an absolute nail-biter of a game! Our 8U Rage squad fought with grit, poise, and determination in an incredible matchup against the Harrison Bombers to secure their spot in the finals! 🐅⚾️
🔥 Game Highlights:
1st Inning Jumpstart: The Rage came out on fire in the top of the 1st, plating 3 runs off hits by DJ, Vincent, a clutch 2-RBI single from Greg, and Leo putting the ball in play to drive in another!
2nd Inning Hustle: Kept the momentum going in the 2nd with a single by Asher, an RBI single from AJ, and a fielder's choice by Noah to extend the lead.
Defense & Grit: When the Bombers made their push with 3 runs in the 2nd, the Rage stayed composed and minimized damage with sharp, heads-up defense.
The 6th Inning Comeback: After the Bombers captured the lead in the bottom of the 5th, these kids showed ultimate poise and heart in their final at-bat in the top of the 6th:
Noah drew a tough walk, then stole 2nd AND 3rd to spark the rally!
TJ smashed a clutch single to right field to tie the game!
Teddy drew a walk to put the go-ahead run on base.
DJ came up big, putting the ball in play to bring in the lead run!
Shutting the Door: In the bottom of the 6th, Greg slammed the door shut on the mound—striking out two and inducing a ground ball to Tommy, who stepped on 1st to lock up the huge victory!
💎 Outstanding Pitching Effort:
DJ: Set the tone early, pounding the strike zone through 3 2/3 tough innings, surrendering just 2 earned runs while striking out 4 and walking only 1.
Vincent: Solid in relief, getting out of a high-pressure jam to keep us right in the game.
Greg: Came in to close it out and seal the win!
We could not be prouder of how hard these kids fought today. They showed incredible heart, teamwork, and toughness when it mattered most.
We have ONE MORE TO GO to bring home Pawling’s very first GHVBL Championship title! Let's go Rage! 🧡🖤
