What if you could spend the night under some of the stariest skies in the East? ✨

This October 3rd-4th, students in grades 6–11 can join us for the Stars Over Katahdin Youth Overnight, happening alongside our annual Stars Over Katahdin public event.

Students will get to explore the public event, have private astronomy sessions, participate in hands-on activities, listen to campfire talks and live music, and look through powerful telescopes with experienced astronomers. Then, when the crowds head home, the night continues around a campfire with plenty of time to take in the stars.

We helped 31 children get ready for their school year today! We still have 8 backpacks leftover that we have pre filled and are ready for pickup for those that have not reached out already and are still in need! Feel free to stop by the Patten Town office this week and pick up a backpack or let us know if you need it delivered! Those who have reached out already arrangements will be made to deliver your items :)

🎒✨ BACK-TO-SCHOOL DRIVE — TODAY! ✏️📚

We cannot say THANK YOU enough to everyone who donated items, shared our posts, helped spread the word, or contributed in any way to our Back-to-School Drive! ❤️ Because of you, we are able to help make sure students in our area have what they need to start the school year off right.

If your child is in need of school supplies, please stop by and see us! There is absolutely no shame in needing a little extra help — that is exactly why we are doing this. ❤️

Can’t make it out today? That’s okay! Send us a message with what your child needs and we will put something together for you. You can:

✨ Pick it up at the Town Office this week
OR
🚗 We have someone willing to deliver supplies to you!

And please remember — your child does NOT have to attend school in person to receive supplies. Homeschool students and other students in our area are welcome, too!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We want these supplies in the hands of kids who need them, so they can head into the new school year prepared and ready to go. 🎒✏️📓

🥎 YOUTH SOFTBALL CLINIC — REGISTRATION IS OPEN! 🥎

The Cullen Family is offering a 4-session Youth Softball Clinic this September, with sessions taking place right here in Patten & Sherman! 🥎

This is a great opportunity for local youth to get some extra time on the field, build their skills and confidence, and most importantly — HAVE FUN!

📅 DATES: September 12, 13, 19 & 20
📍 LOCATIONS: Patten Softball Field & Sherman Softball Field
👧 AGE GROUPS: Grades 2–5 & Grades 6–8

Clinic times will alternate between mornings and afternoons each week and between the Patten and Sherman fields.

⭐ WHAT TO EXPECT:
🥎 Fielding
🥎 Batting
🥎 Throwing basics
🥎 Footwork
🥎 Base running
🥎 Drills & fun games
🥎 Prizes!

All equipment will be supplied. Each child should bring their own glove.

💲 $20 per session
💲 $75 for all 4 sessions

⚾ OPTIONAL PITCHING & CATCHING BASICS
A specialized 1-hour session will also be offered each week for those interested.
• $20 each
• OR $15 when purchased with that week’s clinic session
