The Calling Church We exist to inspire people to become devoted followers of Jesus. The Calling is a non-denominational church located in Pasadena, California. You belong.

Pastor's Michael and Corinne Alfaro planted this church, out of a calling from God. The young couple was inspired by an Italian painting, called "The Calling of St. Matthew", where Jesus is pointing directly at Matthew, calling him to follow him; to live for something much greater. Matthew however was not well liked, he was a tax collector; and in the painting he seems shocked that Jesus would choose someone like him. The church is called The Calling, because we believe Jesus calls everyone, no matter what they have done. He has a special and unique purpose for all people, and nothing any individual has done will change his love or calling for that person's life. The Calling Church exists to inspire this generation to follow and live out the calling God has placed on their life. We invite you to join us. Welcome Home. Sunday | 11AM

The Bible isn’t meant to be speed-read just so you can check it off your list.

Take your time. Sit with it. Let it speak to you.

Reading God’s Word is like chewing on a good steak—you don’t rush it. You savor it, take in the flavor, and let your body get the nutrients.

That’s how we can approach Scripture too. Slow down. Go deeper. Ask questions. Let God’s truth sink in.

Because when we spend real time in His Word, we’re not just gaining information—we’re getting spiritually nourished and hearing what God wants to speak into our lives.

🇺🇸 We Remember.

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001 — the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless heroes who ran toward danger to serve and protect others.

We remember with gratitude.
We grieve with those who still carry the weight of that day.
And we pray for our nation and for all those whose lives were impacted.

In the midst of sorrow, we hold onto the hope that reminds us:

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.” — Psalm 34:18

May we never forget.
May we continue to choose compassion, unity, courage, and love.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We pray.
