Private Peppers Private Peppers is all about showing up.

No Marine should face Family Day alone, and through connection, compassion, and community, we make sure every new Marine knows they’ll always have a family, both in and out of uniform.

🌟 Looking for volunteer hours this summer? We’ve got you covered! 🌟

Did you know that Private Peppers offers Letters of Appreciation (LOAs) to recognize your volunteer service and help document your hours?

Summer is the perfect time for high school students to get involved, give back to the military community, and earn volunteer hours that can be used for school programs, scholarships, and more.

We also offer LOAs for service members who volunteer with us and support our mission of serving new Marines and their families.

Whether you’re looking to make a difference, build experience, or simply spend your time helping others, we’d love to have you join our volunteer team!

📩 Send us a message to learn more about volunteer opportunities and how you can get involved.

Looking for something to do in June?

Come join us for a Private Peppers Family Day event! 🇺🇸

We have three Family Day events this month, including one on a Wednesday due to the federal holiday schedule.

Our volunteers help welcome new Marines and ensure that those whose families are unable to attend still feel supported as they join the USMC family.

If you have any questions, reach out below or send us a message.

💫 We would like to welcome Brigadier General Langfeldt and his wife, Ms. Cristy, back to MCRD Parris Island.

We had the pleasure of meeting them both last Thursday at Private Peppers, a program they were already familiar with from their previous time aboard the Depot. It was wonderful to introduce them to our volunteers and share how the organization has grown over the last few years.

We are excited to have them back in the Parris Island community and look forward to working alongside them as we continue supporting new Marines. Welcome back, Brigadier General Langfeldt and Ms. Cristy! ❤️ 💛 💙

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication gave us the freedoms we hold close every day.

At Private Peppers, we honor not only those we have lost, but also the families who continue to carry their memory forward. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.

Take a moment to remember the heroes who never made it home. Their legacy lives on through all of us. 🇺🇸❤️

Our mission is the same each week at Private Peppers, yet every Family Day feels completely different in the best way. This week, we had the honor of welcoming Golf Company’s newest Marines, and there was just something truly special about this group. 💛

Ahead of Family Day, we had two families reach out asking us to please keep an eye out for their new Marines, so our volunteers were ready and waiting. What we didn’t expect was to also be greeted by one of the most fun, engaging, and outgoing groups of young Marines. They were eager to take pictures, share stories from recruit training, talk about their future goals, and simply enjoy the moment together. Watching them relax, laugh, and connect with our volunteers was something really special.

I say every week that we have the absolute best group of volunteers, and I mean it wholeheartedly. Every single person who volunteers with Private Peppers plays such an important role in making these days meaningful. Our original plan this week was to provide homemade breakfast burritos and McGriddle bites for the Marines. But with the group a little larger than expected, we decided that this week would have been perfect for a luncheon. Within minutes, one volunteer was off grabbing pizza while another somehow magically produced tablecloths from the trunk of her car, and suddenly we had created a welcoming little space where these new Marines could sit, relax, eat, and just enjoy being together after graduation week.

I hope that these new Marines realize the impact they have on us and how honored we feel being able to celebrate their special day with them.

Today was an emotional day aboard MCRD Parris Island as we said goodbye to the Williamsons as they head to their next duty station.

For the past two years, General Williamson and Ms. Mattrice have played an incredible role in the success and growth of Private Peppers. From the very beginning, they believed in our mission, supported our dreams of expanding what we do, and continuously offered guidance, encouragement, and assistance whenever it was needed.

We have watched countless new Marines’ eyes grow wide as they turned to a tap on the shoulder and found the Commanding General of Parris Island standing there to offer words of encouragement and congratulations. We watched him speak with proud family members on the other end of the phone, sharing in one of the most important moments of their Marine’s life.

We also watched Ms. Mattrice warmly approach new Marines, ask if they had family attending, and personally guide them to the Private Peppers tent to ensure they felt welcomed into the USMC family. Her kindness and compassion left a lasting impact on so many.

While we will miss seeing them each week, we know they will always remain part of the Private Peppers family. Every success we continue to have is built on the support of leaders like them who believed in our mission and helped make it possible.

We wish you both nothing but success and happiness on your next journey, and we cannot wait for the day you come back to visit. Thank you for everything you have done for Private Peppers, the new Marines, and the entire Parris Island community. ❤️ 💛 💙
