Beaufort Water Search And Rescue (BWSAR), is non-profit 501 (c) (3) They work directly with Coast Guard, DNR and other county agencies.

Beaufort Water Search and Rescue is a non profit all volunteer organization that helps respond to all water related emergencies and non emergencies.

⚠️ RIP CURRENT ADVISORY – THE SANDS BEACH

The Town of Port Royal is advising residents and visitors of dangerous rip current conditions affecting South Carolina’s coastal beaches, including The Sands Beach in Port Royal.

The advisory remains in effect through 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 27.

Rip currents can quickly pull even experienced swimmers away from shore and into deeper water.

For your safety:

* Avoid entering the water during hazardous conditions.
* Never swim alone.
* If caught in a rip current, remain calm and float. Do not swim against the current.
* If possible, swim parallel to the shoreline to escape.
* If you cannot escape, face the shore and wave or call for help.

Please use caution when visiting The Sands Beach and stay informed of changing coastal conditions.
