Wow. Respect for farmers. I’m Stacie and I’ve been volunteering for about a year. Sometimes I do chores and feed the animals there for a couple of hours, and today was one of those days in the cold, heavy rain. By the time I left I was soaked, bleeding and covered in hay and p**p. I get to do this once or twice a week but farm owners have to do this twice a day, 365 days, rain/snow/sick/tired. The animals are depending on them to eat and drink. There is no quit. No “I don’t feel like it.” And that deserves all of our respect.
I’m currently running the Farmyard Friends Learning Center nonprofit- come volunteer with us some time and see what we’re about.
