Scouts of all ages are invited to a one-of-a-kind, hands-on experience at the Plumbers Local 130 Merit Badge Clinic on June 6! Hosted in partnership with Plumbers Local 130 in Chicago, this immersive clinic gives Scouts the opportunity to dive into the skilled trades, build real-world knowledge, and work toward advancement alongside experienced professionals.

Participants will complete prerequisites ahead of time and finish the day earning both the American Labor and Plumbing Merit Badges.

Please come prepared with a lunch, your Scout shirt (for photos), and all required prerequisites completed prior to arrival.

Clothing Requirements (strictly enforced):
• Bring your uniform shirt for pictures.
• Wear cotton clothing and jeans to work in. NO synthetic fabrics.
• No jewelry. Long hair must be tied back.
• No open toed shoes or exposed feet.
• Absolutely no one wearing shorts will be allowed to participate.

Scouts are invited to a day of hands-on learning and skill-building at the Chicago Federation of Labor Merit Badge Clinic on May 30, 2026, hosted in partnership with Hire360. Participants will have the opportunity to explore new interests, work toward advancement, and learn from knowledgeable instructors while earning merit badges!

Scouts can choose two classes from the following options: American Labor, Journalism, Theater, and Woodwork.

Please come prepared with a lunch, Field Uniform (“Class A”), a blue card signed by your unit leader, and any required prerequisites for your chosen classes.

Our council is conducting a contest for one (1) final admission into the Pathway to Adventure Council 2026 National Scout Jamboree Girls Troop. This is your Scout’s chance to be part of an unforgettable experience at the Summit Bechtel Reserve this summer.

Contest Details:
• 1 entry = $30.00
• Unlimited entries allowed
• One entry will be selected at random to fill the final spot

Eligibility:
• Must be a female Scout, age 12–17
• Must be registered in a Pathway to Adventure Council unit
• Cannot already be registered as a Jamboree participant

Oak Brook Trout Unlimited’s Youth Fly Fishing Program is back for its 22nd year! Open to youth ages 11+, this hands-on program covers everything from fly casting and knot tying to outdoor safety and conservation. All equipment is provided by the Oak Brook Chapter Trout Unlimited!

Scouts: This course follows the Fly-Fishing Merit Badge requirements, with certified counselors available to sign off completed tasks. Be sure to read the Fly-Fishing Merit Badge book and bring your signed blue “Application for Merit Badge Card” from your troop leader.

Choose from one of five dates: May 2, June 6, July 11, Aug 8, or Sept 12
Time: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

All classes begin at Camp Sagawau Environmental Education Center, 12545 West 111th Street, Lemont, IL, and then proceed with casting and fishing at Maple Lake.

Class size limited to 15 students per session – Register early!
