Here is the strangest bunny I've ever rescued! Made in Germany. A Carl original! Happy nightmares! 😜

When we first captured Gumdrop, she had broken teeth, crooked teeth, swollen gums, and matted fur. We didn't know how long she would last with an inoperable abscess on her jaw. She stuck it out for seven months or so, but the damage had spread, causing her new discomfort. Before things became unbearable, I knew it was time to say goodbye..

VET UPDATE : Stella isa girl, I was looking at naked hip bones! Lol! She has a re**al polyp that will need to be removed and the estimate for the combined spay and blood work (since she's older) is posted below.
So far we have $150 in donations for her visit and surgery. We'll get a better idea what the cost will be tomorrow.
Hopefully there won't be any serious surprises.

Stella was rescued from an elderly couple that could not care for her. Her new family brought her to the vet in Thibodeaux, when they realized things did not look right underneath.
They reached out to us for help because surgery for prolapse is beyond their means. We are hoping to get Stella well again so she can go back to the family that loves her. If you can help with a donation of any amount, make sure to put "Stella" in the note! She didn't ask for what happened to her.
Rabbits don't manage changes well, so anytime we can help a bunny stay where they are loved, we know they'll have a good life. Some things can come up that are beyond our means, but we try to help however we can. With everyone doing a little together, we can change lives. Thank you!

Bogey is a near carbon copy of Printer Paper, with the same disposition, only a bit smaller, and with less experience with people. He will be blessed with the chance of blossoming into a family bunny at the end of the week! He's going on a Learn before you Leap trial run, where an eager family will get everything he'll need for the next month to learn all about the family bunny life. We have high hopes that Bogey and all the hooms will find joy in one another.

I set up a pen by the swing in back, which is still a work in progress. Bogey has been stuck in a cage for a while so he needed a stretch I will eventually double the size of this pen and put a house inside of it for recreational purposes. Bogey was found on a golf course. He has the same silver tipped fur and dark eyes that Printer Paper had, and the same chill disposition.
The temperature back here is very pleasant, compared to the front yard.
I'd like to have someone hang out and supervise while I'm inside mucking out the rabbit area.

BOSSIER CITY LOUISIANA-ISO VETERINARY RABBIT GROOMER

This is Lucy. Lucy thinks she's a puppy. Lucy's family is concerned about stressing her out too much by the amount of grooming she needs. They don't want to hurt her and they don't want her stressing out. They love her dearly, but need someone with skills to get the tummy mats and everything else to a start-over condition, without giving her a heart attack.

Gumdrop got another grooming session and more random mats were removed. I don't know if her fur is messy because her teeth aren't right or if she just has some skin issues or fine fur?
It's really hard for me to get underneath her elbows and legs where she still has tangles. She had a couple of bald patches that are growing back, but the edges want to form mats.
She's very patient as I brush her, but if I brushed out all the lumps I feel, she wouldn't have as much fur on her body.
At least it's mostly silky now, because it used to feel like coarse felt. I think all that brushing gave her an appetite.
