Senior Medicare Patrol - Louisiana comes to the St. Charles Council on Aging activity centers every month!

Come check them out this month at the New Sarpy Center on September 18th at 10:00 AM!

Every state plus Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and D.C. has a Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program. The state locator has so much information about the SMP, like their website, toll-free, upcoming events, and links to their social media. Find your state at smpresource.org/locator/.

You don't have a "Medicare file" that needs updating. If you get a call saying your Medicare file needs to be updated, hang up. Medicare isn’t asking for this; it’s a scam. If you did confirm or give out your Medicare number, report it to the SMP.

☀️ Today’s Beat the Heat event was a SUCCESS! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for a fun-filled day! We are so grateful to everyone who helped make today’s event such a wonderful one for our seniors. 💙

A special thank you to all of the Entergy volunteers who came out to lend a helping hand! From helping change a flat tire 🚗, to serving food and drinks 🍔🥤, to handing out fans for our fan giveaway 🌀—they truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly!

And, as always, a BIG thank you to our amazing St. Charles Council on Aging staff who show up every day with dedication and compassion to enrich the lives of the seniors of St. Charles Parish. We couldn’t do what we do without you! ❤️

Thank you again to everyone who helped make Beat the Heat 2026 one to remember!
