🗳️ History Made in CaliforniaDemocratic State Senator Aisha Wahab has won the special election to succeed former Rep. Eric Swalwell in California's 14th Congressional District. With this victory, she becomes the first Afghan American ever elected to the U.S. Congress. Despite facing millions of dollars in outside opposition funding, the progressive lawmaker secured the win to fulfill the remainder of the current term ending in January. Wahab and her opponent will face off again in November for the next full two-year term.

Aisha Wahab, a progressive California state senator, will fulfill the rest of the term of former Rep. Eric Swalwell, who resigned amid accusations of sexual misconduct.
