Dear AHEPA Family and Friends of Our Greek Community,

Christopher “Fiss” McKay, a 20-year-old Greek Orthodox young man from Wheaton, Illinois, is fighting chronic myeloid leukemia. His family’s appeal asks for our help finding a matching stem cell donor for a potentially lifesaving transplant.

Our Hellenic values call us to care for one another. Today, we have an opportunity to put those values into action.

If you are ages 18–35 and meet the donor health requirements, please consider joining the NMDP donor registry. Registration begins with a simple cheek swab completed at home. Joining makes you available as a potential match for Christopher or another patient in need.

People of Greek ancestry are especially encouraged to participate because shared ancestry can improve the likelihood of a match. Eligible donors of every background are welcome.

To get started: Text Fight4Fiss to 61474, as directed on the attached flyer, or scan its QR code. Complete the mailed cheek-swab kit and return it in the prepaid envelope.

Our AHEPA chapters, Daughters of Penelope, Sons of Pericles, and Maids of Athena can help by sharing this appeal with parishes, college students, relatives, and friends—even if we cannot register ourselves.

To explore hosting a donor drive, the flyer lists Christopher’s godmother, Niki, at 630-640-7274.

Please keep Christopher and his family in your prayers. Share his story, encourage someone to register, and help extend the search for a match.

One person’s willingness to help could give a family renewed hope.

Hi Everyone,

Pleased to announce the details of the Spring AHEPA National Golf Tournament. We will be playing at Saddlebrook Resort just outside of Tampa Florida on April 3-8.

Practice round will be Sunday April 4. Tournament will be Monday APRIL 5..Tuesday April 6 and the finals on Wednesday April 7. Banquet will be held Wednesday evening on April 7.

There are a few different options to chose from. Please see the attachment for details

What you need to do to register:

Call the resort at 813-907-4464 and make a $200 deposit.
Email Me or Sandy and let us know which package you would like…also let us know who you would like your roommate(s) to be.
Fill out the attached credit card authorizations form for admin fee and sponsorships and send it to me at [email protected]

The resort will charge to your room for the rounds of golf and for accommodations. The admin fee will cover the cost of the banquet dinner and gifts and prizes.

Greek Heritage Night at Intuit Dome

Join us for Greek Heritage Night on November 4, as the LA Clippers take on the Miami Heat!

Bring your family and friends for an evening of basketball, Parea, and Hellenism. We’ll gather in Section 11 on the Terrace Level to show our community’s presence. Seats are limited, so use the ticket link or QR code to reserve yours. Please also let us know how many will be attending.

The evening is presented under the auspices of the Consulate General of Greece in Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Philoptochos of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco and AHEPA District 20.

Each ticket includes:

- An exclusive Clippers Greek Heritage Night shirt
- Access to a special pregame reception in Court B
- A $10 donation to KIDS ’n’ CANCER Camp Agape, supporting children with cancer and their families

Come early for food, drinks, and Parea in Court B. Half of the court will be available for kids to shoot around and have fun.

The Chapter President

Being a Chapter President is more than holding an office or having a title.

A President sets the tone for the Chapter. He brings Brothers together, encourages participation, welcomes new members, listens to longtime members, and reminds everyone why they joined AHEPA in the first place.

A strong President does not have to do everything himself. His job is to inspire others to become involved, recognize their strengths, give them opportunities to serve, and build a team around a common purpose.

Leadership means showing up. It means making the phone call, reaching out to the Brother we haven't seen in a while, welcoming the new member, supporting our community, and sometimes simply asking, “How can I help?”

Every Chapter will face challenges. Membership changes. People get busy. Meetings don't always go as planned. But a President who remains positive, communicates, listens, and leads by example can make an extraordinary difference.

Most importantly, a Chapter President should remember that his responsibility is not simply to maintain a Chapter for one year. It is to leave that Chapter stronger for the Brothers who will follow.

Leadership is not about the title we hold.
It is about the example we set, the Brothers we inspire, and the Chapter we leave behind.
