“Searching for the Cure”, is an in-depth investigative documentary exploring the world of "Cannabis Oil", tracing its origins, scientific research, clinical trials, legalization, miraculous claims of curing cancer and following 4 patients whom have been diagnosed with Cancer, sharing their experiences while undergoing the 60 day Cannabis Oil treatment. The average American understands that cancer patients smoke ma*****na to ease the pain involved with cancer treatments as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs. If Cannabis holds secrets to curing or even more effectively and naturally TREATING cancer, then it is crucial that RESEARCH is allowed to continue and expand. Only 14 doctors in the country are permitted to study cannabis, meanwhile 1500 people die every day of cancer. Our journey takes us around the globe starting with Israel, the ma*****na research capital of the world, visiting with Professor Raphael Mechoulam the father of research on cannabinoids. Mimi Peleg, Director of Israel's state-supported medical cannabis distribution center, MECHKAR, distributing cannabis to 12,000 patients. We then meet up with Hiam Katz, Social Welfare and Health Committee, leading the social programs for Medical Cannabis in Israel. Next stop, Spain, where we speak with Spanish Medical Science, Dr. Manual Guzman, who's been doing Cannabis Research with lab mice and did a clinical study of 9 people with advanced, terminal glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive brain tumor, were given highly purified THC through a tube directly into their brain. Then transition back to our four cancer patients, "Skin Cancer", "Lung Cancer", “Prostrate Cancer” and “Liver Cancer”, which leads to our sub-stories and celebrity guests. Lung Cancer, we’ll explain about v***rizing, transitioning into the exploration of the sub culture of concentrates known as DABS. The process is to v***rize the cannabis concentrate then inhaling the Concentrated V***r into the lungs, directly coming in contact with the cancer cells. Concentrates are becoming very popular amongst the recreational users as the THC levels are now reaching 60-80%. This extraction processes leads us to "EXTRACT ARTISTS" a subculture within itself as the levels of THC increase in potency partially due to "HIGH TIMES", a cannabis lifestyle magazine that started in the early 70’s. Their advocacy led to an Open Competition known as "The Cannabis Cup" with competitors wanting to get notoriety in the Medical Ma*****na community, as well as those using cannabis for recreational use, receiving what’s known as the GOLDEN CANNABIS CUP for all others to envy. This has had a major impact on the growth of the Medical Cannabis Industry and has created a lifestyle and "Industry Culture", from seeds to cultivation, growers and techniques, indoor vs outdoor, concentrates and extraction processes as these events have been recognized all over the world starting in Amsterdam in 1988. And now our Journey takes us to where it all began, HighTimes’ Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam, as we tour the event and experience 1st hand the lifestyles and competition as we travel with XYZ Farms, a competitor biding for the glory and fame and bragging rights of being the best of the best. While in Amsterdam, we meet up with the man himself, Rick Simpson, a medical ma*****na activist who has been providing people with information about the healing powers of H**p Oil medications for nearly a decade now. Rick cured himself of a metastatic skin cancer back in 2003, and has since then devoted his life to spreading the truth of h**p oil. He has met an absurd amount of opposition and lack of support from Canadian authorities, as well as pharmaceutical companies, government agencies for health, and UN offices. Despite that fact, Rick Simpson has successfully treated over 5,000 patients free of charge. This now transitions to our “Skin Cancer” patient as we follow their story and to begin a “topical” treatment with the Cannabis Oil being applied directly to the cancerous legions on the skin as explained by Rick himself. Back to Amsterdam with XYZ Farms, we check on how the competition is going so far, we revisit with his story of how they’re producing some of the highest percentages of THC in cannabis plants by developing unique ways of cloning, growing, mixing, grafting one strain of cannabis with another thereby developing “Hybrid” strains, we transition back to XYZ Farms in Northern California known as the Golden Triangle having the perfect climate for cultivating medical cannabis producing some of the best quality medicinal cannabis on the planet today giving us a tour of his farm. We now introduce you to “Prostrate Cancer” and they share their story with us as we follow them through their 60 day treatment utilizing much different way of administering the Cannabis Oil. This leads us to our Celebrity Guest interview with Mr. Stoner himself and a Prostate Cancer survivor, Cannabis Activist, Celebrity Guest 1, who tells his tale of his battles with Prostate Cancer and using Cannabis Oil which has cured him. He discusses about his advocacy and the legalization for of Cannabis for Recreational use. Over half of all Americans believe that ma*****na should be legal. According to most recent polls the numbers range from 52% to 60%. But only two states Colorado and Washington have fully legalized and just 18 states have legalized medical ma*****na. If the Federal government still insists ma*****na has no medical value, then why does the Health and Human Services department have a patent on medical cannabis since 2003?? Which brings us to Dr Sanjay Grupa, CNN Medical Personality Consultant who has changed his view views on Medical Cannabis Research and it’s medicinal benefits. Dr Sanjay recollects on why all of a sudden he has a “Change of Heart”, talks about his documentary and tales of being in Israel at Professor Mechoulam’s laboratory and how that influenced him to now being in favor of Medical Cannabis Research yet the Federal government continues to raid and shut down legal ma*****na farms and dispensaries in legalized states. So speaking of Change of Heart, we now visit one of the largest Cancer Research Centers overseas, Cancer Research UK, located in London, England, talking with Mr. Board of Director and Medical Specialist as to why they’ve now changed their Research Policy to include Medical Cannabis Research and have begun funding several programs. This leads us to our Liver Cancer patient who has already started their 60 day treatment. We sit down with Liver Cancer as they share their story, how they felt when they first found out being diagnosed with Liver Cancer. Having already completed several treatments of Chemotherapy, following his treatments as a flash back and brings us up to date. In discussion about the harmful side effects of chemotherapy, we meet up with Dr Allan Frankel, a board-certified internist in California, has treated patients with medical cannabis for the past seven years, on how complicated the process is, as a physician in particular, working inside the medical system, to work outside the medical system to make these dose-consistent extracts available. The biggest problem, the manufacturing process of extracting cannabis oil is Illegal in California by having it’s classification being no different than manufacturing methamphetamine, yet not illegal to possess. Our journey now ventures to the illegal underground world of “Extract Artists”, a whole subculture in within itself. We’re here for a minute or two, creating suspense as we transition back to Amsterdam with XYZ Farms, waiting for the results to be announced by the judges, who’s the best of the best to be awarded THE GOLDEN CANNABIS CUP. The results are in and the winner is….. We cut to Lung Cancer for his follow up, how’s the results going and shares again his check up with his doctor’s, how’s he feeling, and his results have astonished his doctors, they’re curious as to what has happened as the tumor has reduced in size. We watch as he prepares his v***r dosage filling the bag up and inhales, then exhales. We now revisit with the Blaster Master, as he escorts our production team to various underground extract clubs where we meet up with other “Extractors” interviewing them as they share their stories and educate us on the different concentrates known as Shatter, Crumble, Wax and Oils and we then travel to another location where we are treated with a demonstration of what they call “Blasting”, and can see why it’s illegal as can after can of butane is processed and the fumes are highly explosive as there have been incidences to when a there been an accident as someone blew themselves up either severely being injuring or death. We go and visit a vendor who manufactures the tools for extract artist and developed safe guards using nothing but the best in materials for manufacturing with no worries of explosion and fire. Our Blaster Master then talks about a Cannabis Event coming up with HighTimes in San Francisco and insists that we join as he’s competing and this is a completely different vibe than Amsterdam.
