Fly Away Home Rescue NJ When our pups come to us, they are moving in for a while. Our aim is not to adopt our lots of highly adoptable animals as quckly as possible. P.O.

We are a nonprofit animal rescue organization that finds animals that have been given up on or considered hopeless and unadoptable by other rescue organizations. Most of the animals at Fly Away Home have come from nightmarish circumstances. They have been abandoned, neglected, or severely abused. They are provided with extensive medical and behavioral rehabilitation. Thus far, every animal that has found us, has also found a wonderful home after graduating. Every one of them has gone on to become loving family members and loyal companions. They are a testament to the enduring spirit and undying goodness of animals. A successful adoption is one that makes a family complete. Box 146

So who's one of the most adorable, huggable little pibbles in the shelter🄰

Sweet little Lambi is waiting for a foster home so she can FINALLY have the eye surgery she needs to relieve her painful eye condition. Only reason such a sweet, dog friendly, highly adoptable pup has still not found a loving home is because she needs a rescue to commit to her surgery.

We are absolutely committed to the surgery to relieve Lambi's painful eye condition & place her with the devoted, forever family she deservesā™„ļø

Lambi was named by shelter staff because she's just a gentle little lamb. We would even venture to say she "identifies" as a Sheep & it that makes her happy, we're in. šŸ‘

All she needs is someone to love her enough to make room in thsir life for herā™„ļøšŸ¾

Where oh where are all our kind hearted, can't stand to see an animal suffer, step up to the plate awesome humans? Little Lambi NEEDS YOUšŸ†˜

This human & pup friendly, gentle, affectionate, sweet, good natured, beautiful (please add any wonderful adjectives you can possibly think of) little girl really, really, needs eye surgery & we really mean it & we're really upset she's still sitting in the shelter & damn if we wouldn't love to get her to our veterinary opthamologist STATā€¼ļø

We need YOU to foster her while she goes through surgery, recovery, & interviews potential forever familiesā™„ļø

We know fostering is a big commitment, but anything that changes the world for the better, is gonna take some heft. The payoff is also huge, like you'd be saving a life for instance. That has to count for something.

Oh Bodhi my love. . .
It's been a long & bumpy road home for youšŸ˜”

However & whoever doesn't think every dog deserves every chance must not have a pure heart šŸ’™

This brave boy started out at the shelter (well we don't know exactly where he started out before, but it doesn't really matter because wherever it was it sucked)

He was extremely shut down at the shelter. So much so that nobody could get a read on him. The possibility of fear aggression was considered because this hulking 80lb boy was intimidating with his quiet stare & sulkiness.

However long story kind of short, he's ours now & has been ours for quite a while. Why is that? Well firstly he does have some traits which we find appealing, but not everybody is on board with those. He's protective of the people he loves & he's nobody's fool. So when we placed him with a family that promised to follow our instructions & were "experienced" we had to run back in the middle of the night & pick him up. Details irrelevant, but you can guess.

He also has pretty advanced arthritis, & to add to his appealing profile, he's a senior pup. We love seniors but sadly not everyone is on board with that either😢

So we pretty much figured he was staying with us which turned out to be a blessing for us because he's awesome, & for him because he's so happy with his foster moms & didn't want to leave anyway,

We ļæ¼ diligently have him under scrupulous medical care & we figured we're home free. Not so fast. . .

Did you know dogs can get Bell's Palsy? ļæ¼ if you didn't, neither did we but now we know. Just another bump in the road for Brodhi & us. Sometimes the road home takes you to exactly where you're at right now. On to the neurologist & extensive medical evaluation & care.

Rescue only begins the moment we welcome an animal & sometimes it lasts a lifetime. That's ok because we make a promise to every animal we save that we'll stand by them & with them wherever that takes us & for however longšŸ’™šŸ¾

🚨 GOOD MORNING, YOU IRRESPONSIBLE, DOG-DUMPING, BACKYARD-BREEDING SACKS OF DISAPPOINTMENT. DISRESPECTFULLY , GOOMBA. šŸ–•šŸ¾

Good morning, motherf**kers. ā˜€ļø

It’s me. Goomba. Your favorite angry little as***le with four legs, a criminal record of bad decisions, and absolutely ZERO patience for the human species today.

TODAY’S LESSON: RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. SOMETHING AN ALARMING NUMBER OF YOU APPARENTLY THINK IS OPTIONAL.

Let me explain something to the intellectually underfunded population.

A DOG IS NOT A FU***NG DISPOSABLE HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE.

You don’t get to throw it away because it became inconvenient. You don’t get to trade it in because it developed behavioral issues YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO ADDRESS. And you certainly don’t get to act like the victim because the living, breathing animal you brought into your home requires TIME, MONEY, TRAINING, AND EFFORT.

WHAT THE F**K DID YOU THINK YOU WERE ADOPTING? A THROW PILLOW WITH A HEARTBEAT?!

When you bring home a dog, you’re signing up for a 10–15 YEAR COMMITMENT. Sometimes longer.

Not 30 days.

Not until you get a new boyfriend.

Not until you have a baby.

Not until you move.

Not until the dog chews your $37 Target curtains because you couldn’t be bothered to teach it how to exist in your house.

TEN. TO. FIFTEEN. FU***NG. YEARS.

And before somebody starts violently typing their sob story, YES, sometimes life genuinely happens. People lose their homes. People become seriously ill. Financial disasters happen. Sometimes rehoming is genuinely the safest, kindest decision for the animal.

THAT IS NOT WHO I’M TALKING ABOUT.

I’m talking about the people who adopt a dog and SIX WEEKS LATER are posting, ā€œUnfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we need to rehomeā€¦ā€

UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES?!

BRIDGET, THE DOG IS STILL A DOG. WHAT EXACTLY DID YOU NOT FORESEE?!

That it would bark? S**t? Shed? Need exercise? Require training? HAVE FEELINGS?!

Then we’ve got the people who get a shiny new puppy and suddenly their older dog becomes yesterday’s garbage.

OH LOOK! A BRAND-NEW FLUFFY LITTLE POTATO! šŸ˜

Guess we don’t need the eight-year-old dog who loved us unconditionally anymore!

WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE F**K IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

And don’t even get me started on the senior dogs.

Because THIS ONE makes me want to chew through drywall.

People will drag their elderly dog into a loud, terrifying shelter, request euthanasia because they’re old or inconvenient, hand the leash to a complete stranger, and WALK THE F**K AWAY.

That dog spent its entire life loving you.

You were its whole world.

And in its final moments, you couldn’t even give it the dignity of being there?

Then some of these absolute moral sewage systems turn around and start looking for a PUPPY.

YOU DON’T NEED ANOTHER DOG. YOU NEED A FU***NG CONSCIENCE.

And while we’re discussing excuses, let me ask a question.

How many of you plan on rehoming your children when they become teenagers and start acting like little as***les?

ā€œUnfortunately, Timmy has developed some behavioral issues, refuses to listen, and keeps destroying the house. Free to good home. Comes with an Xbox.ā€

SOUNDS RIDICULOUS, DOESN’T IT?!

THEN WHY IS THAT YOUR FIRST SOLUTION WHEN YOUR DOG BECOMES DIFFICULT?!

RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP MEANS DOING THE FU***NG WORK.

It means training your dog.

It means advocating for your dog.

It means understanding your dog’s individual needs instead of expecting every dog to fit your imaginary Pinterest lifestyle.

It means making compromises.

It means recognizing that some behavioral problems require professional help, medical evaluations, patience, management, and consistency.

IT MEANS SOMETIMES BEING INCONVENIENCED.

HOLY S**T. WHAT A CONCEPT.

Your dog doesn’t like strangers? Stop forcing strangers into its face.

Your dog can’t handle dog parks? STOP GOING TO DOG PARKS.

Your dog has separation anxiety? GET HELP AND DEVELOP A PLAN.

Your dog doesn’t like your new boyfriend? Well, personally, I’d investigate the boyfriend, but THAT’S JUST ME. šŸ’…

And if you’re struggling financially, THERE ARE RESOURCES. Pet food pantries, veterinary assistance programs, low-cost clinics, rescue organizations, and community support.

Not every resource will be available to everyone, but at least TRY to find help before treating your dog like a broken microwave.

AND NOW LET’S DISCUSS THE BACKYARD BREEDING CIRCUS. šŸŽŖ

SPAY. AND. NEUTER. YOUR. FU***NG. PETS.

Especially your cats, because the number of unwanted kittens entering shelters is absolutely heartbreaking.

If you’re not an ethical, knowledgeable breeder working to preserve and improve an established breed through health testing, responsible selection, and lifelong accountability for the puppies you produce, WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU DOING?!

And no, Chrissy, producing your 47th litter of Merle Double Chocolate Caramel Doodle-Dip F**kadoodles does not make you a preservation breeder.

IT MAKES YOU A PERSON WITH A CASH APP AND A DOG WITH A UTERUS.

Your dog is not your personal ATM.

Your dog’s reproductive organs are not a retirement account.

And just because you lack the ambition to develop an actual marketable skill doesn’t mean your female dog needs to spend her life pumping out puppies so you can afford another fu***ng lifted truck.

STOP USING ANIMALS AS YOUR BACKYARD PIGGY BANK.

Ethical breeding is about preserving a breed, not manufacturing whatever overpriced genetic smoothie happens to be trending on TikTok.

And FINALLY, to the people adopting rescue dogs:

Some of these dogs have already been abandoned, neglected, bounced between homes, lived in shelters, and experienced more instability than most of you could handle in a lifetime.

They FINALLY get a home.

They start learning a routine.

They begin trusting someone.

And two months later, you decide they’re too much work.

SO BACK THEY GO.

Another broken routine. Another lost attachment. Another unfamiliar environment. Another round of stress because you couldn’t be bothered to put in the effort.

STOP MAKING PROMISES TO ANIMALS YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTION OF KEEPING.

Responsible pet ownership isn’t about being perfect. Nobody expects perfection.

It’s about showing up when things get difficult.

It’s about accepting that your animal is a living creature with needs, emotions, and limitations.

It’s about doing everything reasonably within your power to give that animal a safe, stable, loving life.

And if you genuinely cannot provide that, finding a safe, appropriate home is responsible. Dumping the dog on the first available stranger because you’re annoyed is NOT.

YOUR DOG IS A LIFETIME RESPONSIBILITY. NOT A TEMPORARY ACCESSORY UNTIL YOUR NEXT LIFE UPDATE.

Anyway, I’m Goomba.

I’m a sanctuary dog with an attitude problem, an extensive list of personal boundaries, and absolutely no interest in becoming a productive member of society.

And even MY ASS understands commitment.

Amanda has to put up with my bu****it for the rest of my life.

THAT’S WHAT SHE SIGNED UP FOR. šŸ–•šŸ¤£

Good morning.

Train your fu***ng dogs. Fix your damn fences. Spay and neuter your pets. Stop breeding for b**r money. And for the love of all things holy, STOP TREATING LIVING ANIMALS LIKE DISPOSABLE GARBAGE.

GOOMBA OUT. šŸŽ¤šŸ’„
