One final stop before heading home, and one we’ll never forget.

Today, our team visited a primary school where many children in Beyond Uganda’s programs attend. Until now, students had no clean water source on campus. Children would walk down a steep hill and across a highway to collect water for drinking, washing, and bathing.

Because of the generosity of the kids ministry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, that story has changed.

Together, they raised enough funds to install a deep water well with an electric pump that fills a 5,000-liter storage tank, bringing reliable, clean water directly to the school. Instead of a traditional hand pump, this system includes child-friendly, gender-sensitive spigots so even the youngest students can safely and easily access water.

Today made this moment even more special as Mt. Zion’s youth pastor, who traveled with our team to Uganda, officially dedicated the well alongside students, staff, and our local team.

Clean water changes everything: health, dignity, education, and hope. And today, we got to witness that impact firsthand!

Through our Boda Boda Outreach, Corey Peters, owner of Big Pete’s Cycle in Paducah, Kentucky, and Jayden Morris, a young diesel mechanic, partnered with local Ugandan mechanics and pastors from Heartland Bible College to serve boda boda drivers in a meaningful way.

Together, they offered free tune-ups and repairs while doing something even more important: sharing the hope of the Gospel, praying over drivers, and building relationships one conversation at a time.

What may have looked like fixing motorcycles was really about restoring hope, encouraging hearts, and reminding people they are seen and loved by God.

Thank you to every person who used their gifts, hands, and faith to make this outreach possible. Ministry happens in many forms, and sometimes, it starts with a wrench and a willing heart.

From small groups filled with laughter and truth, to hands lifted high in praise and worship… today was full.

Throughout camp, children gathered to learn who they are in Christ, hear the Gospel, pray together, and grow in confidence and belonging. Between team sessions, worship, shared meals, and meaningful conversations, seeds of hope were planted in hearts.

And then came the hardest part… goodbye. Tears, long hugs, promises to pray, and reminders that love travels far beyond distance.

These moments are why we come. Because when children are reminded they are deeply loved by God and surrounded by people who see them, something changes.

Swipe through a day filled with joy, worship, truth, and tender goodbyes!

Camp days in Uganda are full in the very best way.

Team sessions, worship, sports, shared meals, hugs, laughter, prayer, and meaningful conversations, all pointing children back to who they are and how deeply loved they are.

But some of the most meaningful moments happen after camp ends.

Today closed with a home visit, where walls become stories, names become family, and connection becomes so much more personal. Thank you for following this journey with us and loving these children alongside us.

The first day of camp is in the books!

A day full of team sessions, laughter around lunch tables, games and sports in the sunshine, quiet prayers, new friendships, and reminders that every child is deeply loved and created with purpose.

Our vision team traveled from different churches and states, but today we came together with one mission: to love, encourage, and point these children to Christ. And this is only day one.

Keep praying with us for a life-giving week ahead!

There is something beautiful about worshiping together across oceans and cultures and realizing we truly are one family in Christ.

Our vision team had the honor of joining Heartland Church Uganda for Sunday service; lifting our voices in worship, hearing the Word preached, celebrating baptisms of both community members and vision trip team members, and gathering around shared meals and fellowship.

Moments like these remind us that faith has no borders. Different backgrounds, one Savior, one family. Thank you to our brothers and sisters in Uganda for welcoming us with such love and joy. What a sacred day.

After arriving safely, our vision team began the day at the Beyond Uganda offices, touring alongside our Project Team Director, Joab, and getting a closer look at the work happening behind the scenes to serve children and families year-round.

From there, we journeyed east (with a roadside stop for local “chicken on a stick” along the way!) to spend precious time at Suubi Saturday, reconnecting with children, celebrating May birthdays, sharing lunch, laughter, hugs, and sweet moments that remind us why this mission matters.

There is something so special about seeing sponsors connect in person with their Not Forgotten Children: prayers answered in hugs, joy shared in community, and children deeply known and loved.

Thank you for following along as we bring you little glimpses of each day. Please be praying for our team as we serve, travel, and soak in every moment God has in store.

There is nothing quite like this moment. 🤍

After long flights, little sleep, and arriving to our hotel around 1:30 AM, our team loaded up at 8:00 this morning for a five-hour bus ride east… and every mile was worth it. Watching vision team members reunite with sponsor children, the hugs, the smiles, the tears, the joy, reminds us why this mission matters so deeply.

Today, we arrived for Suubi Saturday a little late, but full of grateful hearts, and are settling into our home for the next five days in eastern Uganda.

Would you join us in prayer for tomorrow? We’ll worship alongside our Ugandan brothers and sisters, and two pastors from our team will be sharing messages and helping lead baptisms in a local pond. Pray for safe travels, open hearts, powerful moments of faith, and that every child and family feels deeply seen, known, and loved.

Uganda, we are so thankful to be back. 🇺🇬
